For Kristen: How Was Your Weekend?
Mine was pretty low-key, since Saturday was a big ball of stress. Friday I had some afternoon beers with Bethie. Saturday was moving day and everything from my mom's car spazzing out halfway to the new apt to exploding manhole covers went wrong, but seeing her so happy in her new place was well worth it. Yesterday, grocery shopping and kitchen cleaning. I'm off today so I'm making homemade gravy and meatballs and stuffed shells. Mmmmmmm, freezer meals.

Cali Cali Cali ... when will you take our advice and stop gardening naked?

mine was good. Saturday H and I went to Plymouth and walked along the waterfront, had some yummy drinks and lunch and then walked the jetty. Sunday we went to our friends farm then came home and had dinner and drinks on the porch. weather was beautiful.
Excuse me, but I believe I am the gardening expert here. Do YOU have a garden? Do you? Because if you did, you would understand.

My weekend was good, but busy. We bought a car on Friday--ended up with a 2010 Rav-4 that we got for a steal because a lady drove it for one month and decided she didn't like the color (white), so she traded it in. Saturday, I made grape jelly and tomato sauce. Sunday, we went to a baptism party for a friend's baby, then drove around looking at some of the houses on our list.

Saturday we went to garage sales and I bought an adorable sugar bowl shaped like an owl for $2. Then in the afternoon we decided to go for a walk around the neighborhood during the heat of the day in the middle of an extreme heat advisory, about half an hour after lunch. Excellent plan! After about 30 minutes I threw up in a storm drain and texted Brett (we go our own pace and he's faster). He brought me some water and we walked slowly home. Then when we had almost made it home I tripped over my next door neighbor's sidewalk and busted my knees. Worst 5 minutes ever.
Yesterday, I bought a new light fixture and trying to install it caused a little bit of ceiling collapse and had to rig up a solution with a jig saw and a picture frame backing. We also got really frustrated and had a giant fight over the ceiling hole. But we bonded over X-files re-runs and all was well.
Not so great, overall. But I want to hear more about the exploding manhole cover

SB, are you doing a re-watch on DVD, or catching them on TV? I've been rewatching. I'm up to season 7 now.
Around 11pm Saturday some things started appearing on twitter about National Grid (power company) and the FD being called to the downtown area when a manhole cover exploded. Apparently there was an underground electrical fire and all in all 5 manhole covers shot into the air. Residents were being told to stay inside, they shut off the power, sidewalks were shattered and some cars were damaged, buldings shaking, all in all a big mess. I called my mom but she didn't answer so I figured she was asleep.
Yup, 9am I got a call from her asking why I had called her at 11 the night before, and did we talk, because she didn't remember talking to me, but maybe she did? Slept through the whole damn thing.

I had a good weekend. Friday night I went to a belly dance performance. It was good, but I had to leave early because I was tired. I got home in time to catch a re-run of Bones, but then fell asleep a few minutes into it. Boo.
Saturday night we saw Karl Denson's Tiny Universe and it was phenomenal. Great show.
Sunday we went to breakfast with friends, cleaned and watched Inception.

Whoa, moo! That sounds scary!
We're watching them on Netflix Streaming. I haven't seen a lot of them, but we're at the end of the first season.

we pressure washed our deck. look at how much better it looks:
I'm excited. It's like we have a new deck. Now we just need it to stop effing raining long enough for it to dry so that we can seal it.
Oh, and our A/C broke. Which is awesome, since it's 1000 degrees here. Luckily it's just our downstairs A/C, so I won't have to kill myself.

I always read these threads. I like to know what's up with y'all.
I was in Jackson Hole, WY for a wedding, which was super fun. Dan did not go because he was out of PTO. My parents were there and helped a ton with Sean, but flying by myself with a 10 week old and his paraphernalia was quite an experience.

Don't give me too much kudos. We found two tiny little bruises on his face this morning. I'm sure I did it while juggling a bunch of stuff, or when, on the final leg of my trip, the last guy on the plane came up to me and told me I was in his seat. I was already settled in and had started nursing him and had to stop and frantically find my boarding pass, only to find out that there were no other seats open, they had overbooked the plane.
Fortunately they bumped the guy, not me. I thought my seatmate would have cut a *** if they had made me move or get off, he was an older gentleman who said I reminded him of his daughter.
I feel super guilty about his bruises.

BTW, Jackson Hole and the Grand Tetons are really, really pretty. I wish we could have made the drive to Yellowstone (about 80mi) but Sean is still in his "I hate the car" phase.
The wedding was at the top of the mountain. We took a gondola up there (this was the rehearsal):
