Manic Monday

what's the best and worst parts of your weekend?

Re: Manic Monday

  • worst: not getting everything done around the house we wanted to, and not being able to find my new box of contacts!!

best: our AMAZING score at home depot....got engineered hardwood flooring for our kitchen for FOUR CENTS a square foot.

  • best: cooking out with friends

worst: going to go visit my grandma only to find out that she didn't feel well suddenly and couldn't take visitors

  • best - most of the weekend

worst - gettting a little too much sun on the top of my left leg as i was sitting in the pool.

  • Best: Celebrating our 1 year anniversary in DC. It was a great long weekend trip with great food, and sights.

Worst: The night before our anniversary we went out to a really highly recommended restaurant and the food was great the Server sucked! He was the worst I have ever had. We actually told the manager after dinner that it was the worst service we had ever had. :( Kind of a bummer on our anniversary.

  • best - apartment hunting closer to work on Sat. We made great progress. We're not 100% on the location but we're at least moving forward!

worst - dropped off mrBAMF @ the airport yesterday. He's gone all week Sad

  • Worst- I slacked and didn't do my walk on Saturday which means I will have to make up for it this week

Best- Had a nice dinner and movie date with DH, and finally got dates from the family regarding the trip. Finally we can lock down a place to stay.

  • Best - Our anny dinner on friday night ended up being jazz at the aquarium, and then dinner at Season's 52. Saturday we had a pool party with friends, and Sunday we went to the gun show together, since I had another scare saturday night and I really think I will be getting a gun for protection.

Worst - feeling completely, overwhelmingly exhausted all weekend. I slept for 10 hours Saturday night, and still needed a 3 hour nap on sunday. Oh, and being scared at my house saturday night.

  • Best - scoring new jeans and a few tops at JCP on an awesome sale on Friday (on sale + 26% off).

Worst - more drama with the main A/C unit. The repair guys screwed up and put a kink in the line for the condensation, creating a small flood in the basement. They acknowledged it was their fault and the owner is pissed at the original repair guys. We're trying to take care of all the water that got into the carpet (a lot, unfortunately). If it is more than we can handle, we will call to have someone come out to clean it and send them the bill.

  • best: being at my parents house and getting to see my bffs and mom.

worst: having to spend time with/ deal with MIL.  was actually pretty proud of how distant i made myself to her this weekend.  i think she finally catches my drift: dont like you & you cant change it.

  • Best: Fun mountain bike ride on Saturday with my teammates, a house all by myself all weekend b/c DH decided to go visit his parents, lots of DVR catch up (aka Star Trek: Enterprise episodes)

Worst: Spending my Friday evening cleaning the house.

  • Best: 2 nights of Dave Matthews, back stage. Awesome food from a 5 star resturant in South Beach, private selection from the chef (who was on Iron Chef!) Having my sis and uncle in town.

Worst: Our "friends" being sketchy all weekend. Oh and not going to be till 4am Saturday night and 2 am Friday and Sunday nights.. I'm EXHAUSTED!

  • Worst: Feeling tired and having a sore back all weekend

Best: Dinners both nights with friends (I do not recommend Saskatoon)

  • Best: successfully running 5 miles at a group run, and getting lots of canning/freezing done with our spare stuff from the garden. Also got to spend lots of time with DH and we laughed our a$$es off watching season 1 of Rob & Big last night!

Worst: This is actually hard, I had a good weekend. I guess the worst would be cramps.

  • Best: Great visit with my sisters on Saturday, and having friends pick up the whole tab for 2 meals this weekend.

Worst: Figuring out on Sunday that it's not eye cream I'm allergic to, it's actually one/all of my eye makeup. SUPER SUCK! Now I get to experiment with them one at a time to find the culprit.

Oh no. What happened? One of the houses in our neighborhood was just robbed (there are only 8 houses in our neighborhood right now) during the middle of the day. On the same day, someone knocked on another house. The nanny answered and the guy said he was the plumber and he needed to go upstairs to do something. Luckily, she did not let him in. They were not expecting anyone! We aren't sure if that guy was the same one who robbed the other house or not.

And even though this isn't related to our neighborhood, the couple that just moved in 2 weekends ago across the street had her purse stolen last week from her car. She had stopped at the bank to pick up cash for the nanny's monthly salary, made another stop, and then got a flat tire. When she pulled over, some lady came over and in broken English offered to help. While she was distracting her, someone took off with her purse. They are pretty sure that they gave her the flat tire, and that woman was in on the scam.

I know it makes me seem paranoid, but everytime I'm alone and I get out of my car, I take my key and I lock the doors. I had to put air in my tire this morning and I locked up my car while I was doing that - there was no way I was lugging my purse out onto the ground while I got roaddirt all over my hands!

I'm paranoid too...I think it's because I grew up in Brooklyn---I turn the car off and lock the car when I stop at the mailbox to get the mail.

  • Best: Good friends wedding! Seeing friends from home.

Worst: Flight delays and NJ traffic! yuck
