10 Great Cities for Young Adults -- Lansing?

I'm not terribly familiar with Lansing, but I was surprised that it made this list.

Thoughts?

10 Great Cities for Young Adults (according to Kiplinger)

Re: 10 Great Cities for Young Adults -- Lansing?

  • Eh, when I went to MSU I thought Lansing was ok, but I like GR so much better. I guess maybe it made the list because of the educational opportunties there?
  • Maybe East Lansing and Okemos, but definitely not Lansing.  I like how they list in the cons "extreme winter weather".  LOL!  Its not like we live in Iceland.

  • Goodgollie, I rolled my eyes at the "extreme winter weather" too, especially because Lansing doesn't even get lake effect snow, do they?  Apparently, it wasn't a midwesterner who wrote that article.

We definitely get lake effect inland. There were several times this winter where we had more snow in one night than Grand Rapids even.

I lived in Grand Ledge (just west of Lansing), East Lansing and then Lansing for 15 years and I can definitely say we get worse weather here in GR.  Maybe that's why GR didn't make the list.  LOL!
