Anyone been to Cabo?

We leave for Cabo on Saturday (yay!!) with my MIL (boo!!). Anyone been and have recs for things to do/see, restaurants, etc?

Please send all your extra TP to me that I make it through this vacation without murdering my MIL. Thank god my BIL/SIL are bringing my nephew which will hopefully keep her occupied.

Re: Anyone been to Cabo?

  • No, but my BIL/SIL have gone numerous times and love it.  I'll ask them what they recommend to do while there.

  • I took a cruise a brazilian years ago and one of the stops was Cabo.  It didn't feel like you were in another country -- I felt like I was in California.  Everything was just as expensive as if you had been in the states.  But we were only there for a few hours and spent part of that on a boat tour/snorkeling, so we didn't get to explore much.  It was just way too touristy for my taste.  But it's really pretty there and I bet a great place to just lie on the beach and drink.

  • Take one of the little boats out to see Land's End- some of them give a little free tour of the water and take you around the arch.  Also, go to the beach on the far side of Land's End- this is facing the Pacific rather than the sea, so the water is a bit more violent, but you have more privacy.  The beach facing the mainland is overrun with families.

There was also one great restaurant that we went to about 5 years ago, something about a wishing well or something.  If you can figure out what I'm talking about, then it's well worth the trip.

That's the problem, Cali. T & his brother are like Will Farell & whatshisname in Step Brothers, they need activites. I would love nothing more than to sit on the beach the whole time.

    Nov - thanks!

  • And if you have time, take a day trip to San Jose del Cabo, just a few miles up the highway.  It's so charming and a great place for a nice lunch.  Very quiet at nighttime, though.

  • a MUST is to eat at Mi Casa.  The best food in Cabos, I swear.

Try to limit yourself to one of their margaritas, it will be difficult but it's good advice.  I know because I had two :(
