We went to see the geneticist yesterday about why we miscarried and options we had. We talked to him for an hour. I found out I have PCOS- poly ovary cystic sydrome. I basically dont ovulate correctly and have too much testosterone. He is possibly going to put me on a mix of metformin and clomid if it gets that far. We were ending the appointment and he was looking through the baby testing and he said "what sex did they tell you it was" We both said "a girl why" He told us it was a BOY!
This makes all the sense in the world now. With my skin disease, as most of you already know, I cant carry a boy full term. If I do, it has a severly high risk of being stillborn or dying by toddler years. So we wanted the baby to be a girl because it was dramatically less chance for this. (Like almost none!) So when we were told it was a girl we were very confused and honestly, blamed a lot of people. Now we know it was a BOY. Its like a weight has been lifted. The dr gave us a copy of the charts too.
I know youre probably thinking 'youre happy it was a boy but still lost the baby'. Oddly yes. We were prepared for the loss if it was a boy. We were in the clear if it was a girl. My dermatologist is so excited as are all of the family.
I couldnt wait to share with all of you!!!
