Has anyone done the Halo Breast Pap Smear?

I had my annual appointment on Friday and they were offering this test. Has anyone done it? I am most unsure about the pain and then what to do with the results if they come back saying I'm at a higher risk. TIA.

Re: Has anyone done the Halo Breast Pap Smear?

  • I haven't posted on this board, but I do on TK. I have not done this test, but I was just reading about it. From what I read, the pain is very minimal. Personally, I would want to know as early as possible if I am at an increased risk, so I would have it done if it was offered. If you google the test name, the procedure is outlined, as are precautions to take if you find that you are at higher risk. I guess it is all a personal choice. The article I read related it to a cervical cancer screening, and I know I am very diligent about that (as are many women), so why would this be any different?

  • I did google it and read some informative articles. Just wanted to get someone's personal opinion on it. My doctor said that the "minimal pain" was a lie.
  • I wish I could have been more helpful :/
