Do any of you get them? I knew a few people who got them when I was a kid, and I thought it was so gross, but then I started getting them as an adult. I get them on a fairly regular basis now, and I can't figure out what's causing them...they just happen out of nowhere. Case in point - I was woken up by one this morning. I was fast asleep, hours before I would have woken up, and I just feel this rush of blood running down my face...it woke me up and I'm not happy about it! They don't last long, definitely under a minute.
HH gets them too, but his are a whole lot more infrequent.
Could it be because I have allergies and am constantly blowing my nose? Who knows. Roar.
Re: Nosebleeds
Yep! It could. I used to get a lot of nosebleeds, but they've lessened in recent years. Sometimes it had to do with my nose being dry (from frequent nose-blowing or a climate change; it was worse in winter, when the house was dry).
Am I mis-remembering, or didn't you move from Ontario to a western province recently? Is it drier where you live now? That could have something to do with it. If you moved to a higher altitude, that could play a role, too.
You've heard what I've done, not what I've been through.
If you were in my shoes, you'd fall the first step."
I agree with all of this. Or if you're like me, I broke my nose years ago and I guess it just didn't heal right or something, so now, if I accidentally get hit in the nose (even just a slight touch) I bleed.
Nope, no bruising anywhere, and I don't think I've ever had a broken nose but I did cheerlead for years and years plus I played rugby in high school so I've definitely taken a bump or two. I don't think that's it, I think it's the allergies and dry nose. When I take allergy meds it makes my nose really really dry, so that's got to be it. I do have a saline spray somewhere though, thanks for reminding me I have it!!!
