How to swim? The swimming lessons lady, and also my dad.
How to balance a checkbook? My parents.
How to manage your money/save? My parents had the biggest influence on that - I swear, they are WIZARDS when it comes to this. I'm also a fan of most of Dave Ramsey's policies - so are they, but they just don't realize it. ;)
Break up with a boyfriend? Uh. I don't recall getting any sort of teaching for this, actually.

How to balance a checkbook? My mom

How to manage your money/save? I think I'm still learning this. My parents gave me an example to go by but never really talked about how. So DH and I are figuring this out still.

Break up with a boyfriend? I don't think really anyone taught me this. I may have taken advice from my friends the first couple of times but eventually I just knew how to do it.

How to cook? Definetly my mom. Also my grandmothers had a hand in this. Cooking is a big part of our family (we always gather around food) and you learned early on in life how to cook.

  • How to ride a bike? I taught myself. I wanted to ride my sister's 2-wheel Peaches 'n Cream Barbie (gag) bike. I was too short to get on it. I remember one evening, my sister and mom were at ballet (my lessons were another day) and dad was inside watching Law and Order or something. I got up on the cross tie in the front yard, climbed up on the bike, rode to the end of the street, hopped off (afraid to turn on my own), walked it back, and repeated until I felt like I could ride on my own. An inch or so later I could get on the bike without a step ;)

How to swim? No one. I took lessons and I failed miserably. I sink like a brick.

How to balance a checkbook? My mom. She is a bank employee.

How to manage your money/save? No one. Always working on that.

Break up with a boyfriend? No one. I've only ever broken up with one and it didn't go as planned.

How to cook? Mom a little, a little from the Food Network and a lot from reading cookbooks, a favorite past time while visiting home during college breaks. Southern Living puts out a great end of the year book.
