We had people over last night. One of the guys was planning to spend the night so he had his shirt for today hanging from one of the window ledges and it was on the ground a bit. My one cat is apparently a neat freak because if things are on the floor where they aren't supposed to be, she'll pee on them. I look over and there she is squatting on his shirt. I managed to go get the shirt and clean up the spot without anyone noticing. And then I had to play it off like I decided to do drunk laundry so I could the shirt clean and hanging back up without him noticing. Which also meant I had to keep everyone drinking until the laundry was finished. I was stressed, but I managed to pull it off.
Our other cat is very afraid of strangers so she hides under our bed while people are over. I went into the bedroom to check on her and it smelled like poop, but I couldn't find anything. Then H came in and agreed it smelled and found poop under the bed. She was too scared to go out where the litter box was, so she pooped under the bed. So again, I had to get that cleaned up without anyone noticing.
They are so disgusting and embarrassing. They're lucky I love them so much because I'm not at all happy with either of them right now. Ugh...so frustrating. I guess we learned we can't have people over.
Re: My cats are so embarrassing
Omg. I know. My cat Oreo is usually pretty good, but he's been the source of embarrassment for me at times. I've had him since he was a kitten and right away, he used his litter box, so he's usually pretty good about all that stuff. There have been times he's been locked out of the room in the basement where his litter is, and he's simply "held it" even. If he needs to throw up (hairball), by some miracle he also always does it on the hardwood and not the carpets, thank god.
But recently, he got poo stuck to his behind while Jon's best friend was over. He is a long hair cat, so this hasn't happened before, but I wasn't surprised it did. Anyway, when I realized it, I had to have Jon hold him, while I cleaned him up. His best friend just laughed and told us it would be good practice for the future. But I could just tell poor Oreo was embarassed too!
Awww! Poor kitties.
My cat is incredibly social, so we haven't had any of those problems. He comes running to the door whenever somebody arrives, and as soon as you sit down, he hops up beside you to give you a sniff and probably crawl into your lap. Non-cat-people are a little freaked by this.
I wish my cat did that. One of my cats has bulimia, I swear. He often has hairballs, if we don't give him the malt or hairball treats, he'll throw up almost everyday. We used to let him drink straight from the faucet, but then we realized he would throw up shortly after.
So the other morning Adam let him into the bathroom to let him drink from the faucet. I told him, "don't let him drink too much, he'll puke." About 10 minutes after he left, I heard Isaiha crunching away on food in the other bathroom (we keep it on the bathroom counter so Chloe doesn't eat it), and less than a minute later, I heard him doing that nasty gag thing, and heard something go "splat." He apparently was sitting on the counter right between the sink and the toilet and his puke landed all over the floor!! I was like, SERIOUSLY?? That was the splat. Usually it's a lot more manageable, but that was ridiculous, especially at 8am when you're trying to sleep!
But usually he doesn't make it onto the tile, it's usually carpet.
You've heard what I've done, not what I've been through.
If you were in my shoes, you'd fall the first step."
Good job on the "drunk laundry" cover though, that's hilarious!
Sarah I am not sure if yours is because i know mine is!!! One of them is as sweet as pie and the other is the devil UGH!!! She is horrible to my kids she adores Bernie sometimes she likes me and when she does like me she clings to me follows me around and is a doll then all of a sudden becomes possessed and runs around hissing and scratching at people and things randomly and forget it if you have never been in my house. We have to lock her away from most people or she will hide under the blanket on our bed if she isn't attacking them. Bi-polar maybe??
