Shoes

I'm looking for a pair of black sling backs that aren't peep-toe and don't have a heel that will kill me (I walk about a 1/2 mile to work on mainly brick... pointy heels + uneven bricks = not good). I can't seem to find anything.

Where do you shop for shoes? I tried places at Cary Town, DSW, Kohls, TJMaxx. I'm venturing to Crabree this weekend. And I've looked at places online, but I vary from 6 1/2 and 7 1/2 depending on the shoe.

Any thoughts on that place off of Capital... that shoe warehouse?

Re: Shoes

  • What about Marshalls? Most of them have an expanded shoe selection now. Downside is they are so hit or miss with styles and sizes.

DSW and Off Broadway are usually good places too.

I love the no shipping fee policy of Zappos. I've lost count of how many pairs of shoes I've returned to them because I didn't like the fit when I got the shoes.

  • Ugh! I hate when you can't find the right pair of shoes!  Lately I've had luck at Dillard's at Triangle Town Mall.  My last resort is always Zappos.

What about this or this one or this or this pair?  They are pictured below.  Obv they cover different styles because I wasn't sure exactly what you'd like!

I have to say I have quite a bit of respect for you for wearing heels on a daily basis.  I wore a pair on Saturday for the first time in a LONG time and have 6 horrible blisters!  I don't think I could do it on a daily basis.

  • For shoes, I mainly look at SRI (warehouse off of Capital), Nine West (in Crabtree and the outlet), and Belk.

I love SRI!  I've found their shoes to be cheaper than other places I shop.  However, it's sometimes hit or miss whether they have cute shoes in stock.  I would definitely check it out though!

I have to admit that I won't be wearing these on a daily basis. Much of my job is running around doing events so I wear flats on many days. But on other days, I just feel like I need to step it up a bit.  And I have to attend some of the events and need to look a little more professional. I have a pair of heels that I've been wearing for awhile, but they are starting to look rather scuffed (is that a word?). :)

  • I really like the rack room at Cary Town mall. I always have good luck there. And the Marshalls in Cary has a really good shoe selection. HTH!
  • I also love Bass shoes at Morrisville Outlet Mall.  I think they have the most comfortable shoes, but sometimes their selection is hit or miss since it is a smaller store.

    This makes me jealous!

I'm a pretty big fan of Nine West's styles (and comfort) but shopping for them is a matter of where to find, at a good price...best of luck.
