teachers....quick question.

Can you work for more than one district at a time? I am a homebound tutor for one district and am thinking about applying for the same position in another district. It is a part time job (as needed) so I thought maybe I could get more hours if I work for both.

thanks !!

I have no idea, but you should check your contract.  Call HR if you can't find details in your own paperwork or on the district's website.

  • In Pennsylvania, yes. I am a home bound tutor and on the substitute teacher list in 3 different school districts right now. Just be honest about it- you need to earn a paycheck and they can't down you for that.

  • in my district, you can have more than one job, but you have to submit a letter stating that you are working another job, and basically, that it won't interfere with your job with the district.

  • In NY, absolutely.  When I started subbing, I was working for 3 school districts.  I know many people who work part time for a bunch of districts.
