ideas for Whit's bday party..

I am trying to figure out how I am going to do Whitleys birthday party. I want to go with a theme, but I dont plan on going overboard with it. I also want to be able to let the kiddos wear their halloween costumes since it will be the day before halloween, but I dont want a halloween themed party.. I thought about doing a carnival theme, but I am not crazy about it.. PUUHLEASE give me some ideas!!

Re: ideas for Whit's bday party..

  • i'm in the same boat you are.  i have no clue what we'll be doing.  a circus theme would be cute - popcorn, hot dogs, cotton candy, etc.

    check this out: http://www.partylikeakid.com/2010/07/circus-themed-birthday-party/

  • I think karas party ideas had some cute ideas for twins.. have you decided what you are going to dress them as for halloween?

that is a cute theme! I am just trying to figure out something that the smaller babies will be able to eat as well..

  • i'll check it out!

we're tossing around ideas for halloween.... they'll be at the in-between stage where they're too big for the baby costumes that look like swaddles, yet not up and walking around good enough for the big kid costumes.

i'm thinking of making them myself and doing something like batman/catwoman, superman/wonderwoman, etc.

mrduetime's input so far has been peas and carrots, and sonny and cher.

  • GA, can you do a costume party?  Then kiddos can come in their costumes but you don't have to decorate with Halloweenish stuff.  Have you looked at kara's party blog?  She has cute "theme" ideas but I find more cute stuff when I am looking at the details in the pictures.  Stuff that you could "make your own".

AIDT - I demand that the twinsies go as Thing 1 and Thing 2 for Halloween!

  • what will Whit be going as for Halloween?

If you knew what the costumes would be for the kids going, that would make it easier - like if they were mostly animals it could be "a day at the zoo" or something.  It'll be hard to make a theme other than Halloween, unless there is a cohesive theme to their costumes.

For Elise's first, I just did "princess" stuff with lots of pink because I knew that it would probably be the only year that I could do just cutesy girly stuff without characters.   This year she is super huge into Elmo so it'll be Elmo themed.

  • I believe baby rabies is doing a party blog too. I can't wait to see pictures of what ya'll decide. I can't believe it's almost been an entire year.

But I agree with MrAIDT - Sonny and Cher all the way, or Kermit and Miss Piggy, but that might be hard to pull off.

  • The circus theme is cute, I just feel like it can get expensive really fast.. and alot of the kiddos wont be able to eat the popcorn, candied apples, etc..

I really am leaning towards doing an owl theme, but I cant figure out intertwine the whole "wear your costume" idea into it..

Christen, I dont know what she is going to be yet, I am so terrible when it comes to these types of things..

  • guess whoooo is turning one?

wear your costume and come have some fun

    that's all I got....

  • John suggested a dress up party, my suggestion is a barnyard party. Even if they don't wear their planned Halloween costume it's VERY easy to come up with an animal costume or short notice and a cheap budget.
