My grandma is funny

She just sent me an email to say that she thought my wedding dress was prettier than Chelsea Clinton's!

Re: My grandma is funny

  • LOL I love grandmas!

    Your dress was very pretty.

I laughed every time someone complimented me on mine and asked me where I got it. I loved seeing jaws drop when I said "The clearance section of Target.com."

  • that's very cute!

Yep, I got a lot of jaw drops when I said I got mine at David's.  When we went to my cousin's wedding two weekends ago, my mom and I were talking dresses.  I mentioned something about DB not being the greatest place to get a wedding dress and she was all shocked and said "Well, if you didn't want to get your dress from there, we could've gone somewhere else!!!!"  I laughed at her and had to explain to her that I LOVED my dress and couldn't have imagined myself in anything else!!!  Some people just don't understand that not everyone needs to pay thousands of dollars on a dress they're only going to wear for a couple of hours!!

  • Haha I liked telling people that my dress cost more than our venue, it made it SOUND expensive. But it was just a very cheap venue. My dress was under 700 dollars! Which is still way more than I had planned on spending haha.

  • Yeah, I got mine for right around 600 (and that was with a $200 discount).

  • Mine was $100... with the sash. The dress alone was about $80. The best part was that I didn't need to have a single alteration done, though I did pay $50 to get it pressed.
  • Awesome Grandma you have there! I think its crazy to spend that amount on a dress. I felt sick spending 650 on mine I can't imagine paying that much for a name! UGH!!!!!
  • Seriously! And then other people get this weird idea that you have to spend a ton. I saw people on the knot wondering how in the world they'd get a nice dress for  under 2 grand.  CRAZY
