If you were buying a clothes hamper...

Would you spend $80 on it? At Meijer, even?

I think ours were in the $30 range which seems decent, but I could not imagine going somewhere like Meijer and leaving with an $80 clothes hamper.

Re: If you were buying a clothes hamper...

  • I have this really great one which I LOVE.....this is kind of like it except mine has 3 compartments, which has been plenty!

So for a single hamper I wouldn't spend that much.  But something like this, absolutely yes.  It has been wonderful, the bags are so heavy duty and I can just lift each bag out if I want/need to.

  • Absofreakinglutely not. We have two plastic laundry baskets that we've had for years and they do their job just fine. They were no more than $5 each.

This! I don't even own a hamper. With 4 kids it's easier to use laundry baskets.

Yup. I have more like 5 plastic laundry baskets, but they were still way less than $80.  :)

I guess that if I had to have a hamper/sorter in an area that a lot of people see, I may pay more so that it looked good, but that's the only reason I can think of that I'd ever spend that much on something like that.

Yeah ours is in our upstairs hallway right at the top of the stairs so people can see it as they walk in the front door.  We don't have a laundry room in our current place and that's the best place for it, so I'm glad it looks all nice and organization-y. :)  Plus it's super handy- one for whites, ones for darks, one for towels & sheets.  But I actually didn't buy this, I got it for Christmas.
