Its soo frakking hot!

Ok, heat index of 105 here today.  It is soooo hot.  I just want to be by a pool.  Or drink a cold sweet tea.  Boo high blood sugar that I can't have one.

How do you beat the heat?   Any plans for this week?

I am going to see my fave band Hanson in Memphis tomorrow then giving my class their summer final Friday..so I'm off for a week! woohoo!

Re: Its soo frakking hot!

  • OK, your heat INDEX is 105. Our regular air temperature is 106, meaning the index will be pushing 110. And it's supposed to last the rest of the week...not cool!

Plans for the week, I'm meeting an intern who works at my old job and is from my hometown for lunch and then Friday is the day we find out what we're having! Hopefully Munchkin cooperates and flashes us the goods!

  • I'll take some heat, we have had an usually crappy/cold summer here!

Plans for the week: I am really busy with work, girl's night on Thursday at a new brick-oven pizza place and DH has another home game on Friday! That is about it this week.

I loved Hanson when I was younger, totally obsessed with them and NKOTB!

  • It actually hit 102 here yesterday and the heat index was 117. I thought I was going to suffocate! Our humidity was at 100% as well. I seriously hate Louisiana summers. You feel as if you are breathing in water when you walk outside, no joke.
  • Pass me some heat too!  We've had an unusually cold summer and it's made it hard for our summer garden to grow.  We just picked our first tomatoes this week and have yet to have a cucumber grow!

H is. still. home.  For another week at minimum.  We're fighting right now because I'm thinking he needs to go to the hospital and he doesn't want to go.  His infection is still localized to the injured shin, but he's really warm and has the cold sweats.  No fever according to the thermometer.  We're on a once-daily trip to the doctor for an antibiotic shot in the butt in addition to the two oral antibiotics he's taking.  It's becoming quite taxing on my normal household routines.

I'm having lunch with one of my BFFs tomorrow.  I'm having a hard time knowing he'll be in London for two years and I won't see him except via webcam.  :(  And Thursday I'm going up to see pregnant BFF.  She's no longer safe to leave alone for long periods of time.

    ???

  • for two reasons:

    1. could go into labor at any time now (due the 20th, but a big baby, family history of early labor and told she's likely to deliver earlier)

     2. Having been off of her regular anti-depressant medicines now for quite a while, she is freaking out about EVERYTHING.  She is a high-stress person in an uncomfortable position without much self-stability.  At her shower, she got super mad because there was a brown bow on the cake to accent the green.  She REALLY hated that there was brown on the cake and went crazy for 20 minutes.  In the end, she settled down when a guest arrived and after we all said it wasn't a big deal.

Oh wow, I didn't realize she was due so soon!
