Lord help me: Mom edition

I was on the phone with my mom yesterday and we started discussing her upcoming wedding (October).  She mentioned that we have to start thinking about dresses (my sister and I are in the bridal party) and that she saw some nice bm dresses in David's Bridal.  I responded saying, "I thought you wanted us to wear the same color family but pick out our own dresses so that we didn't look matchy matchy.  You know, you're not a 22 year old bride".  To which she said, "Well I AM the bride and I decided that I want my bridesmaids in matching dresses.  It's MY wedding, after all."

So, please send your TP and vibezz giving me the strength and restraint not to strangle this woman.

  • can you redirect her to the jCrew site instead of David's bridal?

  • Consider yourself lucky. Some bridesmaids are required to wear the same color lipstick. All you have to do is wear the same color dress as your sister. No biggie.

    11/11/11 = 5 years. Woah!
  • You're missing a golden opportunity here.  You have the chance to turn the tables on your mom for once.  I say you milk this for all you can -- when she makes plans to go dress shopping, keep canceling at the last minute because you found something more important to do.  Make a big fuss over every little thing and generally act like a spoiled child.  It'll be fun!  Sure it's passive aggressive, but I think you've earned it.
