Actually on time for once! ![]()
I'm doing pretty good with my diet. Last week was super stressful and busy, so I fell off the wagon a bit along with some of my motivation. This week I've been trying to stick to my diet and was VERY happy with the number I saw on the scale this morning! Glad to see I recovered for last week and then some.
I still need to get regular exercise into my schedule, but I'm working on that.
Spiritual health- we went to church for the 2nd week in a row (a big accomplishment for us). And we still really like this church! I'm hoping that continues.
Financial health- we are doing really well at sticking to our budget this month (we run mid-month to mid-month), so I'm excited to see how much progress we've made!
How is everyone else doing?
Re: Wellness Wednesday
I kind of fell off the wagon this week. I've been super busy at work and I was sick Monday so I haven't exercised since Saturday
I also haven't had time to go to the grocery store, and since we're leaving for Boston tomorrow, I'm probably just going to throw something together tonight.
I'm hoping for a fresh start after our trip
Potato chips were my downfall this weekend. It had been so long and BOY did they taste good. But I'm paying for it now--the roof of my mouth is all cut up and sore--OUCH. Maybe that's why I don't regularly eat chips!!
As far as working out, well, our neighbor was out of town and he told us we could use his pool so last week I did a few non traditional workouts (for me, at least) and had a good time. DH and I tried a new cycling group over the weekend and I think we both enjoyed ourselves--i think we may try a ride with the same group tonight and possibly over the weekend.
Financially, we're also doing pretty well. It was interesting to see (moreso at the beginning of July, but I don't usually think to include "financial health" into our weekly updates) what areas of our yearly budget we were over with and which areas we were under with. The good thing was, was that most of the overs were balanced pretty well with the unders. So thankfully, I think we're doing OK in our first year on a budget. Oh, and this is pretty interesting--at the beginning of the summer DH bought a commuting bike. Well, he's been riding that to work almost every day. He only used ONE tank of gas the entire month of June. If he hadn't had to drive me to Raleigh and back when I flew up to NY, he would have only used ONE tank of gas for the entire month of July too.
Mentally, I think I'm over my "hump" as well. For a week or two I was just struggling and being a little more of a debbie downer and negative nelly. While certain things are still bothering me, I'm actually taking the bull by the horn and trying to DO something about my issues. Being passive and just taking the approach of "ignore it and it will go away" wasn't working for me.
I've been doing pretty good on working out these past two weeks. I've been going to spin class twice a week and doing 30-Day-Shred at least twice a week. I also write down on a calendar each day what I do, and I have to walk by the calendar daily so it's sort of a mind competiion. I like being able to see something on the calendar each day (or most days).
Eating has been going okay, but I sort of fell off the wagon after I made Dr. Pepper Brownies over the weekend. I did end up freezing half of the pan though.
Physical health: I've been doing really well on the working out and eating! It helps me to have something to work into a new routine. I've been logging my exercise and food intake on Livestrong's myplate still (which I'm still digging on) and I think it helps me pay attention to calorie intake. I wasn't taking in enough most of the time.
Emotionally - last week, I was SUCH the negative Nancy too! I don't know what it was, but I'm trying to just spin everything positively this week and seeing if that helps. So far so good.
