Nuva ring missing?

Is it possible for the nuva ring to "fall out"?  I'm pretty sure it can't get stuck inside you, but mine has gone missing and I'm worried about putting a new one in next cycle without being able to find the lost one.  Is it possible for it to have come out with a tampon or just falling out without me feeling it?

Re: Nuva ring missing?

  • Mine fell out a few times.  It usually happens when I'm near the end of the 3 week cycle, I guess it is more flexible and comes out a lot easier, I can sorta feel it moving down, and I have to take it out, rinse it off, and put it back in.  One time, it came out when I had a BM...not fell out, but it was pretty much poking out.  And one time it completly came out when I went to the bathroom after sex, like, fell in the toilet.  There is NO WAY it got lost inside you.
  • Absolutley, its quite large as I'm sure you know...so if you can't feel it with your finger its fallen out. My husband sometimes pulls it out during sex...a laughing matter when he freaks out cause he doesnt understand you can go 3 hours with it out and not have it affect the chemicals. :) Their quite slick to, so the chances of you not feeling it can be quite large. Don't worry to much, Just put another on in after the cycle of the other is over so you can keep to your same schedule.
  • I know they say you can't "lose it" inside of you. But you can have a hard enough time finding it or reaching it-- which is pretty much losing it. After i had been using it for a couple of days, i went to check where it was, out of curiosity, and i couldn't find it. I freaked out, looking for it everywhere, wondering if it had fallen out somehow despite my cautiousness. I eventually just had to be more "ambitious" with reaching for it. It was inside of me but very far up. I recently figured out that squeezing your belly muscles(like when making a bowel movement) can make it easier to reach. I would try that before taking for granted that it's lost.
  • and i am the opposite of everybody else in the way that, when my husband and i have sex, it goes farther up instead of coming out.
