Football season is coming up!! I just bought tickets for my first professional game and I am soooooo excited and just needed to share with someone. Is there any other ladies out there that are football fans?
Re: Football!
I'm already planning the menu for our first football party lol. WVU's first game is Sept 4th and this will be the first time HH and I host a football party (last year we didn't have a house) so I'm REALLY excited =]. Here's what I've got so far
Chicken Strips with buffalo, bbq, and ranch dipping sauces
Hashbrown Casserole
Cheeseball & Crackers
Chips & Dip
Somekind of dessert
Plus I emailed SIL and asked if she would bring something lol I know its 4 weeks away but I can't help it!
They ride you out of town on a rail around here if you're not a Steelers fan! We actually spent Sunday afternoon at training camp. Everybody's starting to get psyched, and the jerseys are out again. One of out three people in my town will be wearing a Steelers jersey from now until the end of the season. It goes up to 3 out of 4 on game days.
I'm looking forward to football season a lot more this year. Matt was a volunteer high school football coach for the last two years, and I was proud of him, but I hardly saw him from late July to Thanksgiving. He told the head coach at the end of last year that he wouldn't be able to do it again; you just can't work 55 hours a week and coach another 25 (and we'd been hoping he'd be in grad school by now).
This year we can go to games TOGETHER and I'll have someone to sit with and talk to! I hated sitting there alone. I'm hoping that we'll even be able to go to a few college games; the university I work at has a pretty decent football team, and I've never been to one of their games.
LOL This is me and MLB! Of course, when your team is the Pirates, usually getting dressed up cute and going to look at the pretty view is the best part of the excursion. Poor Buccos.
RRRRRROOOOOLLLLLL TTTIIIIDDDEEEE!!!! Woooohooo! Love Alabama and my Dad love Auburn HAHA! Its good I live far far away it was like a war in my house when I was a kid!!!
My DH is a Patriots fan, He is from Mass so you know it goes with the territory and I know its a sad team but I do love my Raiders and I do get a lot of abuse from it but hey I am no band wagon fan! I just cry a lot! Its all about football in my world during the foot ball season!!!
Bahahahaha!! This is funny Pamila! It is my duty as a Chiefs fan to hate the Raiders with a passion, Although I have no idea why. So this time I will make an exception since it's you. Cuz I could never hate on a fellow May 2010 Nestie!!
Thanks Jen I appreciate you being kind to me!!! Oh some of the rivalries I do not understand at all!!!! Football and men I have found can be a crazy. Just like the Auburn VS Alabama thing it is hysterical you are a fan of one or the other period you must make a choice when entering the state of Alabama!! Living in Northern California you have to choose but its not as extreme!!
Haha... It's like I said, you HAVE to pick one or the other in Alabama!! At my office on Fridays during football season, all you can see are red and orange shirts. It's the same thing in Georgia though. You're either a die-hard Georgia Tech fan or a die-hard UGA fan (grrrrrr........)
LOVE this!!! And you're exactly right...you'd be escorted out of Western PA if you're not a Steeler fan :-) When I got home from work yesterday, Jake had his Polamalu jersey on...and I bought my annual pair of black and gold Nike's. Obviously, we're huge Steeler fans and when it's not football season we spend at least some of our daily TV time watching the NFL Network. The best part about being a Steeler fan not living in Western PA, is that the comradary between Steeler fans you see (almost every day) seems to be even stronger since we're all displaced fans. I get tons of comments about my SYXBRGH license plate :-)
What university do you work at? Hubby and I went to and met at Slippery Rock, who had a really good football team when we were there. I miss going to those games...small school but definitely a blast going to watch every saturday.
Otherwise, we watch Penn State...WE ARE!
I LOVE FOOTBALL SEASON!!!
