Eye Makeup Remover

I need some suggestions.  I was using one by Mabeline (sp?) for awhile and it was just okay (nothing spectacular, but it worked).  It ran out, so I bought one by Neutrogena and OMG do I hate it!  It has made my eyes really itchy and they burn.  I have been trying some days w/ no makeup and that's the only thing that has changed recently so it has to be what's causing my eyes to bother me.

Can you rec what you use?  I want something that isn't harsh but gets the eyeliner off (that's my biggest issue) without causing any drying or itching.  I've seen great reviews for one Aveda has but am looking for any suggestions.  TIA!

Re: Eye Makeup Remover

  • I like this one.  It's one of the few that doesn't burn my eyes.  It's not great at waterproof mascara though.  I switched to tube mascara b/c it stays on, doesnt' irritate my eyes, and washes off with regular cleanser.

  • I use one from Clinique. I've also used one from Lancome and liked it. Both never irriated my eyes. I'm sure Sephora has something you might like.

  • I really like the Bliss Lid + Lash Wash. Very gentle, nondrying, and removes all traces of makeup when used iwth a cotton pad or ball.  They sell it at Ulta too, so you could use a coupon if you have one.
  • Mary Kay's eye makeup remover.  I never order the stuff but a family member made me try it and I am hooked.  I have had the same bottle for a year now, a little goes a long way!  I am very particular about not putting anything greasy, oily or heavy on my face and this takes eye makeup off so well!

  • I use the Eye Makeup Remover wipes that they sell at Trader Joes.  They are under $5 for a pack of 30 wipes.  They have oats in them and are very gentle.  Even my husband has started using them at night.  (I don't think he has actually read the 'makeup remover' label yet...lol!)
  • I second the Mary Kay eye makeup remover, works great.  I also use the ELF brand (@ target).  It's a pack of cotton pads soaked in the remover for $1 and i think there are around 20 in the pack.  They work great and its super cheap!
