As you all know by now my SIL is....special. This is her newest antic....
She got married July 24th and she moved in with her now husband who lives 3 hours aways from her parents. Before she got married she had her parents get all of her crap out of 2 storage units (this girl won't even throw away a notebook) so she could have a garage sale. Well...she didn't sell it all so she asked her dad to pack the remainder of the stuff up to bring down to her new home so she could attempt to have another garage sale after the wedding. Well....she realized that maybe this new house isn't the ideal place to have a garage sale because its a really small town so she has no asked him to drive down the 3 hours pack up all her stuff again and drive back the 3 hours so she could have the second garage sale at her parents house.
My in-laws are enablers and my SIL is selfish for expecting her 53 year old dad who works 60 hours a week to do this for her AGAIN. If she would have asked me to do this I would of told her she was high and to kiss my butt.
Oh and I guess we're going to SIL's house this friday because FIL bday is the 7th and she wants to "surprise" him and grill him burgers since he will already be here doing her slave work. How bout she surprise him by growing common sense. I think he'd appreciate that more.
Re: another SIL story because I know you love them!
Yeah... I sympathize with you and all the crap she puts you through, but it's hard to feel sorry for her parents. They've been giving in to her on everything for her entire life. It must not bug them enough for them to put a stop to it (everyone has a breaking point).
It's incredible when you realize just how many people there are in the world who contribute nothing at all to society, in fact are a drain upon it, and who apparently suffer no consequences for anything.
It will all come back around eventually. Just think about how she probably has no fulfilling relationships in her life; the only people who stick around are those who feel obligated by their blood ties. Sooner or later...
I know they raised her this way but one thing I have noticed is that when they do try to put their foot down (as of the last 2 years) she will not listen. Even my husband has tried telling her that her behavior is ridiculous and she won't hear it. So they mainly just do what they do to "keep the peace" because she always starts fights. Its embarrassing to be around her. MIL and SIL ALWAYS fight when we got eat out or something and I just hate it.
Although....some of things have kind of become amusing to me becuase lets face it...I love a train wreck...and so it gives me something to talk about. I already have it in my head that if she tries any of that crap with me I will unleash everything I have been holding back for 8 years. I can't wait. The other day when she came by to get her damn dog and her keys she was saying how her friends had toilet papered her entire house and shoe polished their cars while they were away on their HM and she thought it was so funny but the neighbors didn't like it too much. I told her that if that happened to Cody and I I'd be pissed and my friends would be cleaning it all up becuase we are not 14 anymore. She didn't get that I was insulting her...hehe
I SO want your SIL to try and give you crap!! I can only imagine the ear full you would give her! and then I want you to come on here and tell us all about it!
Yes, but it's the equivalent of a child throwing a tantrum. Yes, it's loud and annoying and you may be tempted to give in just to shut it up but it's really best to cover your ears and let it scream...in the end it learns that you mean business and the only thing crying and screaming did was result in a sore throat.
Sorry but I totally think the ILs have enabled her all this time and they just need to really put their foot down and stick with it. Not cave in b/c she squawks.
