Suburban-ites - What do you do with weeds?
I have no idea what to do with the weeds we pull. Sometimes, we bag them and toss them with garbage. I feel awful leaving multiple bags of weeds on the curb. Sometimes, DH burns them, but I doubt that is any better.
I don't want them in garden compost, because the last thing we need is to spread the weed seeds around even more. We don't have a municipal composting service for them (only leaves and branches). We really don't have a place on our property to let them rot down anymore since we removed the monster bush for our veggie garden.

My Blog
If they couldn't go in the compost I would probably toss them in the woods outside my mom's house - but I guess that depends on the area your in. Throw them out the car window on the way to work?
I hate to throw away plants since I know they'll get sealed in a plastic bag and just sit there taking up space whereas left on the ground they'll wilt and dry rapidly (or make new home, lol)

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, over!
I try to separate and decide from there. Some weeds I've identified as toxic to just about everything but birds--those weeds I'll throw in our trash can to be burned.
The other, regular weeds, I'll just throw in our yard waste. They mulch it all to use throughout the city.
Hmm... drive 'em to an empty lot and toss them??
I put them in city compost, but that's not a helpful answer for you.
Thanks for the ideas ladies.
Can I compost the crab grass? That doesn't seem to go to seed. I don't care if it's in the grass itself, but it spreads all over in other places. At least I could reduce our waste if we can go ahead and compost that.
I'm going to draw the line on thistles though- seed or not, I hate them too much to let them near my veggies. Last time, we left those on the sidewalk to brown first. Super Klassy!
Our city sells brown yard-waste bags for stuff like that, or we toss them in the yard-waste bin and buy a pickup tag for it at the hardware store and put it at the curb with our regular trash/recycling.
