But in a good way. He just sent me this e-mail to cheer me up:
"I am sorry you didn't get the job you wanted
. Don't let it get you
too down. There will be other opportunities for you. Keep doing what
you have been doing. Some one will pick you up because they will
recognize your potential. All you have to do is keep putting yourself
out there and success will follow because you have so much to offer. It
may just take some time for the right person to recognize it. Meanwhile
me and your mom are here for you and Jimmy if you need anything! I
love you and I think you are AWESOME!!"
And he attached a super cute picture of us. Dads are the bestest
Re: my dad makes me cry my own tears
Aww. That is really sweet.
I missed your post about the job. Sorry dude. It would have sucked anyway. You would have had to sit next to a sweaty, smelly man named Marvin. Marvin likes to clip his fingernails at his desk and then eat the clippings. You are really better off.
aww, that is really sweet.
sorry about the job, I hope something better comes along soon.
My dad is sooooo not like this, which is ironic since he is a minister. But then again, I'm not really like that either, so I guess it all evens out.
Sorry about the job, though.
Aww, Shamwow. Dads are the best, aren't they? I really think they get more sentimental as they get older.
I'm with him, though. I just know the perfect job is going to come along and they're going to realize just how awesome you are.
The nerve!

Nov, I could have said this verbatim.
Sorry you didn't get the job you wanted...that is hard.
I'm sorry you didn't get the job, Shammy. : ( Hang in there; you WILL find something great from a company that recognizes how great you are.
and, my dad is awesome but not very pep-talk-y. Either is my mom. Maybe that's why I've always been so independent, NOT because you sent me to summer camp, MOM.
my H has a saved letter like that and his dad still emails him once in a while along the same lines. We went to his cousin's HS grad party and her (step)dad made a really amazingly sweet speech about how proud he is, etc. my parents are great parents, but DAMN. I feel cheated out of parental pride or something. I'm getting a little sad thinking about it. Okay. I'll be 32 in two months for pete's sake. I should just move on.
