They are not doing a formal funeral for our family friend that passed. The family is receiving friends at a local college sports/concert venue. I noticed one of the daughter's friend posted on the wall the details of the evening and at the end "the family requests you wear bright colors". I don't want to show up looking out of place. WDYT stick with the traditional classic black dress, wear something summer and colorful, or go black with color splashed in?

Re: WDYT? Funeral Attire
If it was me I would wear black but add some color to it. You could add a colorful scraf, some colorful jewerly.

That would be pretty too.
I too like the idea of brown dress and colored cami.
if the family requests you wear bright colors - i'd definitely go for it. wear a pretty summer dress.
I think you could go the route of wearing bright colors, or the brown dress/colored cardigan route. Either way you go, you probably won't be the only one.
