Job interview f/u opinions

Last Monday, I had a great interview for a position that I'd like very much.  The recruiter told me when she walked me out that I would hear early this week.  I sent a thank you email to her the next day.

Should I call or email to follow up again?  I know they were interviewing a few more people, plus one of the men making the final decision (one of 2 men I'd be reporting to) was out of the office the rest of the week.

Re: Job interview f/u opinions

  • I would wait until this time next week to get back in touch.  People get busy, she probably just underestimated how long it would take to move on to the next step in the process.  Plus if they intend to extend an offer to someone based on just the one interview, they may need approval from HR/higher-ups to do so, and that takes time.

  • That makes me feel better.  :)  The job reports to 2 different people in senior management with very different personalities, so I can only imagine what it's like to wrangle them to make a decision.  I'll give her more time.

  • You can follow-up, but as vanilla noted, I'd wait Especially since one of the people making the decision is out the rest of the week. They likely won't talk to him until early next week at the earliest.

I'd give it until next Friday.
