Brand new to the nest!

Hi everyone!  I am new to the nest...just started today.  I have been married now for two years and my husband and I live in Greensboro, NC.  We hope to welcome a baby to our family in the next few years...not rushing into it.  We would love to meet some couples or young parents in the area who share the same lifestyle as us!

Re: Brand new to the nest!

  • Welcome to the board. There are a few Greensboro/Triad nesties on here.
  • Congrats on your wedding and Welcome!
  • Hi There!  I'm also a Triad nestie.  What kind of lifestyle do you guys have?  Are you still in the club/downtown scene or you guys physically active, are you looking for a supper club?

I look forward to seeing more on the Nest--and perhaps in person as well!

  • Welcome!  I'm a Gibsonville nestie.  I think derky basically hit the questions I would ask, heh.

    Welcome to the nest!
  • I am a teacher...I taught Kindergarten for 2 years, and am about to begin my third year as a 1st grade teacher.  My husband is in information technology...computer science/engineering.  We don't go to clubs much...not really into the club scene, but enjoy a more calm atmosphere.  We would like to lead a more active lifestyle...seems like life gets so busy sometimes and we don't spend as much time enjoying nature and being active as we'd like to.
  • Nice!  M and M--maybe we could do a walking get together or something like this one day after work?  I know Country Park has both the 1.6 mile loop along with some other off-road paths we could explore.  Not sure where in the 'boro you live and whether or not that would be a good spot for you.

I'd be down to go walking after work at Country park! Maybe a small GTG?

MandM - I have many teacher friends!  My old roommate teaches 2nd grade at Hunter.  I'm a research Associate in Durham, and DH does construction.  We're very low key, we mainly go to dinner with friends and go bowling.  We're starting to be more active (well him more than me, I've been active - doing Yoga for a few months now @ Triad Yoga Institute on Spring Garden).  DH is originally from Sanford and doesn't have many guy friends up here, and is always complaining we need more friends, lol.

  • Welcome!

I'm also a Triad nestie...DH is a teacher, I work in a 9-5 business field...if you do the walking thing, i'm in! Just be careful with Derky...she might walk as fast as she bikes!

I would be interested in this as well. Let me know if you guys get anything together.

Yay for more Triad nesties. Welcome to the board.
