What are your "hot topics"?
With all of the Prop 8 talk swirling around it gets me wondering: What topic(s) always get you "fired up"?
My 3 biggest ones:
1. Animal rights.
2. Equality (a.k.a. Let Tim & Tom get married.)
3. Smoking.

Re: What are your "hot topics"?
1. racism
2. homophobia
3. food education
both 1 and 2 could be rolled into equality but the issues for each are so different that i kept them separate.
1. Equality (gender equality, racial equality)
2. Education
3. Strengthening families' lives.
I only have two...
1. Animal rights/welfare
2. Children
I am so absolutely disgusted by the parents who left their 6week old in the car while they shopped in CVS or Walgreens in 90+ degree weather.
I'm with you on the equality and smoking. I get very heated when I meet a buttheaded person who's convinced the Bible tells us homeosexuality is wrong or that people will go to hell because of it...and then that person lives a life full of other types of sin.
Childhood obesity gets under my skin as well.
That would get me heated too! I tend to believe that the people proclaiming to be the "biggest Christians" are usually the most UN-Christian. Everything that Christ stood for is "conveniently" forgotten. :-/
Hah. See? Totally a hot topic for me. :-)
Pretty much my only hot topic is when others tell others that they are stupid/lame/etc because their opinion/belief/etc is different from theirs.
As long as you recognize that others do not have to agree with you, I'm coo.
My thoughts exactly. I don't believe Christianity is all about a bunch of rules and doctrines. It's exactly what that article screams- loving people. Even if you don't always agree with them or their lifestyle.
1- Socialization/Communication (issues) with todays youth
2- Animal abuse/ cruelty
3- Laws/punishment or LACK of punishment for certain crimes
(Oops. I replied to another post in this thread....
)
I'm not sure what my hot topics are - equal marriage rights for everyone is definitely one. I'd say the environment is also a hot topic for me .I'm sure I have more that i just can't think of...
I only really have two that get me going...
1. Equality
2. Animals rights
Animal welfare
Equal rights
I have more but I'd just myself all riled up. Those two are very hot topics for me right now. In a few days it might be the Governor's race and ranked voting.
Faith based misconceptions/education/exposure
Racism, racial equality
Knowledge/education
Zuma Zoom
Equality/Human Rights
Enivronment
Healthcare
Overall, I hate people who are not educated about issues they feel they need to preach on. What you believe or don't believe I can respect, but if you have no idea what you are talking about then we have a problem.
