Is this weird or something new?
I got an invitation in the mail yesterday for a former coworker's bridal shower. The thing is, the bridal shower is at Dillard's. If you don't know what Dillard's is, it's a department store like Macy's or JC Penney. Is that a new thing people are doing or is that weird?
On top of that, the girl is registered at Dillard's, so I'm wondering if they're going to walk guests around the store and point out things they have on the registry LOL God I hope not...
Anyway, has anyone else heard of people doing this?
Re: Is this weird or something new?
This sounded nuts to me. I called my grandma who works at Dillards in my hometown, and she has never heard of it either. She thinks it would be against company policy...with the food and stuff.
I dunno. Maybe your local store is having a promotion? Or maybe they have a party room? Let us know how it goes?!...
LOL me too! I'll let you girls know.
Do you think maybe they mistyped the invitations? They meant to say that they were registered there, but it ended up on the wrong line?
Nothing screams tacky like returning the gifts from the bridal shower in front of the guests of the bridal shower...
I've known people that have had baby showers at store like Babies R Us but never bridal showers.
I think that's a little weird...
I have never heard of having any party at a store. Like others have said, it screams awkward and tacky to me.
The registry information was on a separate card that came with the invitation. So, the invitation says it's at Dillard's at the mall and that we have to RSVP to customer service (???) and then there's the registry card saying that they are registered at Dillard's.
Since it seems I'm not the only one who thinks it's weird, I will definitely have a full report for you ladies after the shower
