Anyone go to St. Peters Medical Arts/Dr. Giugliano?
I've had issues with my current OB - long wait times, cavalier attitude. Thinking about either adding an MFM or switching OB's completely.
I saw that St. Peters Medical Arts has an MFM on staff. Anyone go to this practice? I can't seem to find a website for them to get more information. Any feedback about them would be greatly appreciated!
TIA!
Re: Anyone go to St. Peters Medical Arts/Dr. Giugliano?
Is it the one on New Scotland Rd. in Slingerlands?
If so, I have gone to that practice, but not that particular doctor. I originally chose the practice because I'd just moved here and needed a practice that took my then-student health insurance, and I preferred a predominantly female practice. I've only seen one of the doctors, but I wasn't impressed -- and I stayed a couple years, so I feel like I gave it a fair shot. It could just be her, or it could've just been her having a bad day, but I found her to be short tempered/impatient, and not very interested in how I felt about my care. It was more about getting me in and out. (Nothing major, but I was dissatisfied with the generic version of a BCP I'd been on for a few years, and wanted to talk about other options -- any/all options. She looked exasperated at me, and told me, well we can try this other pill, but that's it. Not especially creative.) Between that and preferring to have future kids at Albany Med over St. Peter's, I'm practice shopping. It wasn't a terrible experience, I just feel like I can/should be able to find something that fits better.
yup, that's the practice *sigh*
I have been through several OB's over the time I've been in Albany and I can't find any practice that I love. I LOVED my practice in Syracuse. So frustrating.
I did have one amazing doctor here in Albany that I was VERY happy with, but they only delivered to St. Claire's (now defunct) and Bellevue (which is not for me).
I feel like finding a good doctor should be easier than this.
No joke. If you're ok with delivering at St. Peter's, though, maybe it's worth a shot. I might've had a different experience/opinion if I'd seen a different doctor.
Congrats on your pregnancy btw
Hey Nik!
Bellevue is now owned and part of Ellis Hospital, so it might be run differently. They even changed its name.
R, I think I'm going to transfer to Upstate. I got one other rec for a practice that has an MFM, so I'm going to call there too and decide. You know shop around for a vag doctor like all normal, non-type A, OCD girls do
I think I'm getting less sane instead of more sane. xoxo
