s/o to PP: recommend your Albany OB

I would like to deliver to St. Peters. That's pretty much my only request.

TIA!

Re: s/o to PP: recommend your Albany OB

  • Hey there - I used Upstate OB/GYN on Washington Ave Ext  (518-489-4446).  Dr. Namkoong delivered my little guy (he also has twins of his own!), but I did like all 4 of the delivering doctors there.

    Good luck in finding someone.

  • Nikki!!!

So glad to see things going well for you....twins is so exciting!!!!!

I also used Upstate OB/GYN and love all the doctors there.  Dr. Goyer delivered my daughter via C-section and was wonderful but Ive seen everyone there and you'll love it there!!!

Congrats again!!  Can't wait to see how you decorate those beautiful nurseries!

  • If you have any other specific questions feel free to email me or pm me....I've been a pateint there since I was 16 years old.  I also delivered at St. Peters and had a fabulous experience esp. considering I am a horrible patient and had never been in the hospital before!  they are super caring and attentive there and Ive rarely had to wait.

Best of luck to you!!!!  Keep us posted on those babies!

Ditto on St. Pete's.  They were great and I would deliver there again in a heartbeat.

  • I also used Upstate Ob/Gyn!  Dr Collalillo delivered my LO and she was great.  Just like everyone else, I really liked all the docs there.

Some notes about St. Peter's -

They did not offer any drugs to me while I was in labor, I had to ask for them.

I did not like the lactation consultant.  She came in as we were just about to leave, sat across the room while I nursed and when she saw the my DD was having plenty of wet and dirty diapers, she decided everything was AOK.  I had some trouble BF'ing once I got home - DD fell asleep within 1-2 minutes of feeding so she was wasn't getting enough and was losing weight.  I called the LC several times but she just told me that because I was supplementing with a bottle, my baby would never BF and made me feel like crap.  Fast forward 8 months and my DD is happy, healthy and nurses like a champ!

Overall, St Peter's was good.  I felt really safe there and the nurses were great.  I think the key is to ask for what you want (epidural, breast feeding help, etc.) instead of waiting for them to offer it.

    Congrats and good luck!
