Give me ideas...bucket list related
Ok so one of my things to do on my bucket list is sky diving and we were planning on doing it for my 30th birthday...that is until my frenemy from college went out and did it for her 30th birthday, and now I can't do it for mine because she'd take it to be me copying her...so give me some cool ideas of things I can do that would be along the similar lines...
I've already done white water rafting and love that, but I am an adrenaline junkie so I need something else.
Re: Give me ideas...bucket list related
My first thought is who cares what your 'frenemy' thinks, do it anyway!
But if you really are against it a few of the things on my list are learn to surf (obviously travel would be involved in that one) and learn to scuba dive.
I care, because she'll rub it into my face and I'd rather not go there that's the only reason...
I do want to swim with the sharks or go in a shark cage type of thing and watch them swim that would be cool.
There is this place in WI that you can do F1 racing for a weekend (or 3 days, or something like that). I definitely want to do that but it is very expensive. Also, I don't know what it's called or where it's located.
I realize this isn't much help.

Rock climbing? Mountain climbing?
On "Hell's Kitchen" last week, the challenge winner got to go up in the Goodyear blimp. Maybe you could take a blimp ride? Or is that too safe?

Some really awesome ones in Las Vegas!

We went shark diving when we were in Hawaii. It was awesome, and we got some video of it. If you have a chance I would do it. I know that there are some places in FL and CA that do it also.
There is a Zip line in WI Dells too. We have thought about doing that.
Hot Air balloon ride would be fun too.
OOOOOOH, thank you so much for that link! DH and I are going to Vegas in April for his 30th and I would love to suprise him with something fun and totally off the wall. Now, I'm looking at a few different things so I know I'll find something that will work for us! THANK YOU, THANK YOU!
My Married Bio {Lived It}
Whenever we can afford a vacation again, DH and I are going ziplining in Whistler, British Columbia. We went in Hawaii, but the one in Whistler is 10 times higher and in the forest. You can also go year round.
My sister just went sky diving for her friends birthday and she had video. I really want to go now. It looked terrifying and exciting.

Thanks for the ideas ladies...some of them I've thought of others (race car driving) I hadn't but really like that!!
We are going to go dog sledding in January for our Christmas present to each other so theres that to look forward to!!
Get scuba certified!
Getting certified in the lake is kind of boring, but then you can go to the MOA or Duluth Aquarium for a dive with the fish/sharks. We went to the Duluth Aquarium a few years ago to dive in their main tanks and feed the fish.. I'd love to dive in the MOA's shark tank!
DH races cars. Let me know if you need any info. He belongs to several clubs across the nation as well.
They don't actually let you do it by yourself. It's a whole weekend thing as well. There's classes that you take, then you get assigned an instructor and you have to have certain gear.
I can point you to a few different schools where you can get much more information (like Skip Barber, SCCA, BMW Club, etc...).

are you going to be 13 or 30? seriously. and why would she know what you did if you aren't friends. and seriously, WHO CARES what she thinks?
put your big girl pants on and do what you want and intended to do. skydiving sounds better than any of these suggestions anyway.
ETA this sounds much b!tcher that i intended it to. i just mean that you shouldn't care what she thinks no matter what. it's your life!
I have to agree with strength. It's YOUR birthday...who cares what this person thinks?
Right, and I understand that. We were really good friends in college and then got into it because she is one of those people who uses all her friends to get ahead, so I felt like I was just a step on the ladder to someone better. We fought, lost touch, and then re-connected when we were both married and on our way to having a kid...but its always been strained.
We were competitive with each other then, we're competitive with each other now...and the skydiving thing is just one thing she beat me at. I know its trivial and I am an adult I don't let her Sh*t bug me, but if I do the Skydiving for my 30th she'll be all over the place saying that she did it first and that she recommended it to me, when that's the furthest thing from the truth...and we are still friends, just not like we used to be.
I only called her a frenemy because I keep her in the "keep your friends close, and your enemies closer" file.
ETA: I know that it sounds totally idiotic it just hard for me to explain this friendship to people who don't get it...when really I should just dump it altogether and call it a detoxification!
i think that sounds healthy and mature. and like a birthday gift in and of itself. : )
Go skydiving. Seriously.
margaritas in mexico
Hey, lots of people have friends they love to hate
Underwater World at MOA has SCUBA with the Sharks. Not sure if they are nurse sharks or not.....those are pretty harmless so they might not be up your alley.
I have been skydiving, and I'm a certified scuba diver. Scuba is way more fun (and a longer experience) than skydiving. Skydiving is over in about 10 minutes. A dive can last up to an hour. Anyway, having done both activities, I'd disagree and say scuba is much more fun and exciting than skydiving. It's something a person can continue to do very easily if they like it.
I wouldn't be so hard on someone who cares what another person thinks about them. Every single person on this planet cares what others think and say about their actions. If we didn't care, we'd all do whatever the eff we wanted 24/7.
