Re: Happy Friday!

  • I'm so happy it's Friday.  I was going to take the day off, but I have to argue a motion on Tuesday morning and have some more prep to do, so I'll work a half day.

Monday is a holiday in Rhode Island so I get a nice long weekend.

  • Throwing a big fake luau tomorrow so lots of prep for that!

  • my MIL missed her flight last night, so instead of getting in at 6:30, she got in at 1:30.  And then she was hungry, so I had to make her food, and then she wanted to chat, so I was up till 3:30 last night.  And those jerk squirrels are still eating my tomatoes.  They left 3 half eaten ones at the bottom of the plant to taunt me this morning.

    Summary: I'm grumpy.

  • Today has been a rollar coaster.  I found the lost dog a home yesterday, only for them to bring him back today (jerks).  I cried for 2 hours because I am a hormonal beast.  Then I posted a pic on FB asking if anyone would take him and I had 2 people that immediately responded.  So then I was happy again.I just found out that someone opened the door and "let him out" and now he's missing.  I want to kill someone and I'm back to being teary and sad.

  • Working from home today.  Got a promotion this week!  Still working out the $$, but should be at least a 10-15% pay bump and I'll transition to the new job in a couple weeks.  Woot!

On the downside, Mucho is getting stabbed tonight.  6 month shots.

  • I have that wedding to go to tonight, and my sinuses have decided to go full on crazy mode. I will probably just sleep a lot today. Plus, Ethan seems to have a runny nose developing. So far, it hasn't made him fussy at all, but we'll see. He sure hates the aspirator though.

My mom offered to babysit tomorrow so we could go to a movie and dinner or something but I may have to wait and see how I feel now. BOO.

  • Congratulations Lindsay!

Boo for shots and baby runny noses.  The aspirator really brings out Ian's temper.  He also pitches a fit with kleenex or a facecloth near his nose.

  • I was at work until 11 last night and could be here late again tonight.  I'm pretty sure the new shirt I'm wearing today actually looks like a tent.  My little carton of breakfast Tropicana is missing the attached straw, so I have to drink out of the side of the carton like a heathen.  Bah humbug.

  • Congrats Lindsay!  I got a promotion and raise upon coming back from maternity leave and it certainly made the transition easier!

    Coley, that sucks!  Poor pup.

This weekend should be a lot of fun - tomorrow is H's 40th Bday, so IL's will take Miles for the night and we'll be staying at a hotel in the city, eating a schmancy dinner, and going to a Bway show.  I'm psyched!

  • November, that sounds heavenly.

  • Congrats, Lindsay.

I'm slowly working through a sea of boxes.

  • I'm jealous of your fancy, schmancy dinner, November!  Happy birthday to Mr. November!  What show are you guys going to see?

  • Congrats Linds! And I am jealous about a night in a hotel November. aaaaaaa, bliss.

We started our weekend yesterday since my H is off today. We went to the Museum of Fine Arts, our third museum with the little guy and he seems to love them. Then we had dinner where I burned the roof of my mouth.

Tonight we are having our new neighbors over for dinner. We really like them and I am making chicken tikka masala and apple dumplings. I am not sure those go together but they sound yummy.

Also, our photog is done with our pics and is going to try to bring them over tonight so we will probably try to decide what we want to print and frame, but no other big weekend plans.

  • Yeah, I asked Mr. November what he wanted for his birthday and he said, "a night of uninterrupted sleep"  Done.

Coley - thanks for the H bday wishes!

We're eating at Maze (Gordon Ramsay), and then seeing Memphis.

  • hello, friends! congrats on the promo, Linds.

I am soooooo soooooo happy today is Friday!  :::throws confetti:::

My family's reunion is this weekend in Indiana (my sister and my dad have lake houses on the same lake).  I am excited to see everyone and float weightlessly in the lake, eat a lot of good food, and indulge in a glass of wine.

  • That sounds like a fun night, November.  Since Ian and I have Monday off, we're spending Sunday night at the beach house so my mother can get up with him at 5 and I can sleep until at least 7.
  • November, this must be a good weekend for birthdays. My H's is on Sunday and my MIL's is on Monday. We're going to a birthday party for a family friend's daughter tomorrow, then having a joint one for my H and MIL on Sunday. Tomorrow night we are also boating on my IL's boat and then my H wants to go see the UFC fight at a bar (violence is really not my thing, but get enough beer in me and, eh, I'll watch anything). Sunday night my parents and sister come in from Georgia and are staying for the week.

    God, I'm exhausted already.

  • I am trying to find a comfortable position to lay in and I'm not having any luck.

My H is going to Yankee/ Boston tonight so on top of being alone all day I will also be on my own all night. I need a good movie or something to keep me occupied. My cleaning lady is on vacation this week so I am too embarrased by the state of my house to invite anyone over.

Tomorrow my sister is coming to hang out in bed with me, feed me mexican food and rub my big belly.

I tried online food shopping the other day and could not be happier with how it worked out. Right now I am eating the lovely grapes they picked out for me.

I did Peapod when I was in college and staying on campus for the summer. It was wonderful because I didn't drive and they didn't have the shuttle during the summer. The best part was that they bring everything in for you, which is my least favorite part of grocery shopping.

Congrats, Linds, and happy birthday Mr. November! That sounds dirty.

I'm very excited it's Friday because I am ordering pizza and mozz sticks for dinner to celebrate the end of the stomach bug. My mouth is watering thinking about it. Tomorrow will bring MORE mozz sticks at Red Robin which is even more exciting. Then Sunday is FOOD TRUCK DAY!!!! at the craft market.
