talk to me about Inception

A few people mentioned it in the movie poll down below - is it really that good? I really like Memento so I'm into Christoper Nolan's films and kind of want to see it just based on that, but I'll be honest - I don't even know what it's about! Can someone explain it without giving too much away?

Re: talk to me about Inception

  • Inception was very good.  And now that you mention Memento (I didn't realize it was the same director), it is similar.  Definitely a thinking movie.  It is all about crafting/manipulating dreams.

The end kind of leaves it up to you & I am intersted what others that have seen it think...maybe when everyone sees it, we need to have a poll on what you think happens.

  • I haven't seen it yet, but I REALLY want to!  Certainly a must see this summer.  Hopefully I can go and see it in the next couple weeks.

  • We liked Inception a lot, but it's definitely a thinking movie.  And I loved Memento (what ever happened to Guy Pearce *swoon*?).  It definitely explores the ideas of what is reality and what isn't.

And a little Guy to start your day:

  • Is definitely a must see!  Two thumbs up for sure YesYes

After seeing it, I told my dh, I would love to see it again. There was alot going on in the movie, but yet it was certainly captivating mentally & visually and sooo mind blowing, no pun intended of course Stick out tongue.  They do spend some time at beginning the film explaining the process.

Let us know when you do see it

  • I just saw it last night and was stunned.  DH and I really loved it.  After everyone sees it, I'm curious to know what the audience reaction was to the ending.  LOVE Joseph Gordon Levitt!  Big Smile

Oh Guy...you used to be such an Aussie hottie...then you lost waaaay too much weight and looked skeletal and kind of disappeared.

What's he up to now, I wonder? I should go look him up on imdb.

  • Ironically, after watchig Memento, I wondered the same thing (and also suddenly got a huge urge to watch Priscilla, Queen of the Desert).  MH and I ended up watching The Road shortly thereafter, and he's in it!  He's also in the Oscar movie The Hurt Locker.  So, good news is he's still working, but they're small parts so you might miss him.  I'd put him on my laminated list.  ;)

Who does he play in The Road? It's one of my favorite books of all time but I haven't seen the movie.

  • The man with the family at the very end.  If Guy was more famous, I'd almost say it was a cameo; he's literally on screen for all of 5 min?  But both MH and I were like, "That's the guy (har har) from Memento!".

Ahhh, OK! There are so few characters that I figured it either had to be that or the guy who stole their shopping cart of stuff (couldn't see him as one of the cannibal types). I'm so torn over whether or not to watch it...I think Viggo Mortensen is PERFECT casting, but wtf was up with whats-her-name (assuming she plays the mother who is never actually in the book)? I'm so in love with the book and I'm worried the movie will be really crap.

I'm nervous to watch this, too!  J put it on our netflix queue and we've had it sitting on the table for 3 weeks, unopened.  I just can't bring myself to watch it.  What if I hate it and it ruins the book for me?  Gah!
