of money, that is. So Chloe had another accident today, and didn't even realize she had done it. Ended up taking her to the vet, and the vet suspects she has bladder stones, which are causing her frequent UTIs.
Diagnosis for stones: xrays, but they can only find 60-70% of stones. So we upgraded her wellness plan (if you don't know PetSmart and Banfield, the wellness plans cover all office visits, routine shots, dental cleanings (pricey alone) and other care, and as you go up the ladder, they cover different things with a monthly payment. It's awesome - with 3 pets, we've saved over $6500 in 4 years). So we moved her to the one with the most coverage, which ended up paying for the xrays and the urinalysis this time. Instead of paying $24/month for her plan, we'll pay $40.
The medical treatment for the stones is changing her food to a special brand and add cranberry supplements to acidify her urine. The surgical treatment is to go in and remove them.
Well, we did the xrays, and they showed no stones.
We could do an ultrasound and that would definitely show them, but that's $300. So we're going to do another, longer, round of antibiotics, change her food and do the cranberry. The good news is, after all the xrays and the urinalysis, we only paid $26 for the sedative for them to do the xrays.
If it happens again after the round of antibiotics, we'll do the ultrasound. Our poor baby just can't seem to stay healthy.

Re: She's bleeding us dry
Awwww, poor baby!!! Hopefully the antibiotics, diet change, and cranberry will help her out!!!
