super sweet dhs

last night we went out to dinner with our friends from DC who just had a little girl. they just came into town to visit family and we all went to Outback together.

the baby got fussy because she was hungry, so I offered to go sit in the car with the mom while she fed the baby. right as we were getting up to go outside our food came out. We were both splitting entrees with our dh's, so we told them just to go ahead and eat. We were in the car probably 20 minutes and just knew when we got back in that they would've probably eaten the whole entree themselves. I was thinking 'the sacrifices moms have to make' haha

But when we got back, neither one of them had taken a single bite! They waited for us :) The food wasn't piping hot, but it was still delish. I told them they were both DHs of the year!

  • Nice!

Can you send a little note to my DH? I was starving the other night and DH was making dinner. well Emmy got fussy and I took her out of her high chair and went to play with her in the living room. DH finishes dinner and then sits down and eats! He comes into the livingroom after he was done and says - oh you really should go eat. Yeah no kidding! I get no sympathy from him!

  • The only issue would have been if the baby was still fussy...if the DH had eaten he could have held the baby while momma ate. haha. Sometimes we have to eat in shifts over here. not so much any more, but tons when the babies were fresh.
  • thats very sweet.

i know when i cook supper and dh fixes his plate and sits down he waits on me to finish whatever i am doing and sit down with  my plate before he eats. i always tell him to go ahead and eat and his respong every time "no my momma raised me to be a gentleman". i love it and cant wait till we have a boy and he can teach him those things! it really makes my heart melt.

Wow, thats so nice :)  I grew up with my Dad always eating while my mom was still fixing our plates, and she always ate last :(  Now, with DH he just digs right in, then wants to know where my plate is.  Um, duh I have to go fix it.  Im definitely teaching my children some manners.
