Poll: dress codes
i'm just curious:
what is the dress code at your job? business, business casual, casual?
I feel like I'm super lucky in the dress code department since I work at libraries there's no real Code, but limitations (no writing, flip-flops or bar tops).

Normally we go by business casual Mon-Thu and casual Fridays. But this month my boss decided we would be casual all month - also with limitations aka "use your best judgement."
Every now and then we have to bump it up to business professional if the big dogs come in for a visit. I hate wearing a suit to work!

I work as a nanny so it's always casual there and I work in a kitchen for some extra income, which is also casual.
I do wish sometimes that I worked in a place that required nicer clothes, mostly because I love getting a little dressed up.

its casual here. i wear jeans and a nice shirt and flipflops everyday. pretty much the same goes for everyone else... jeans, shirt/tshirt, sneakers. there is someone here who wears sweatpants (nice ones, of course) everyday. we rarely have anyone come into the office so its not a big deal.
Our director is pretty laid back as long as your boobs are hanging out or you see your shorts are so short you can see your butt. I guess she trusts our judgment bc most of the teachers are older anyway. I am the youngest there this year.
Basically, as long as it is kid appropriate, we are allowed to wear shorts, flip flops, whatever.
My other preschool had a stricter dress code so it kinda surprised me. But in the south everything is pretty much laid back.
DISD probably has the most strict dress code of all the school's in the metroplex. It's business casual May-September, but the rest of the year it's no capris, hose with dresses and skirts (who wears hose????), ties for men, and no open toed shoes. I tend to push the dress code a bit... especially the open toed shoe part (and since I won't wear hose, I just don't wear skirts). Our new principal is a more relaxed than our last, but still no Khakis except for Fridays and ABSOLUTELY no denim, ever.
It turned into a bit of a fight when they told us no khakis or denim skirts. Most of my pants and many of my longed sleeved shirts have glue and overhead pen on them. And it's hard to wear skirts when you are up and down all day. The argument was we're professionals like lawyers and business people and should present ourselves as such. Our return was, you want us to dress like lawyers, pay us like lawyers. We lost

Current job = business casual
New job = business professional/business casual. Definitely do not have to wear suits everyday, but definitely a bit more business than the last job, which was a lot of pants/sweaters/polos wearing.

business casual; jeans on Fridays.
We've gotten to wear jeans for the last 3 weeks because we're reconfiguring our spaces and have to pack/move everything.

The women at my job take "business casual" to a whole new low... Yeah, shorts (even the nice ones) and leggings are not work appropriate, people!
Last Friday, I even saw a girl wearing denim shorts! It's jeans day, true, but I'm pretty sure that means jeans in pants form or tasteful skirt form.
Planning Bio - Woefully out of date
Scrubs and closed toed shoes M-Th, Friday is casual so we can wear jeans, slacks or khaki's with work issued polo, lab coat and closed toe shoes. It's boring but it beats having to decide what to wear in the morning. Also like Megs no rings with stones, stud earrings only, no nails, or polish.
