Hello!! I don't normally post here, but I need help. My sister & bil live in Tacoma, WA and she wants to move to Cincy. Bil is a little hesitant, he is originally from Cali.
My sister is looking for some super cool neighborhoods they can look at when they come to visit this month. They are late 20s, no kids, & 2 dogs which they looove to take to the dog park. They would also like an area which has close (walking distance) bar/market/park/shops etc. They would probably want to buy a house eventually, they own a condo now in Tacoma. But they would like older neighborhoods better, has to be safe though - especially since my sister walks the dogs ALOT by herself!
This is a major mission of mine currently since I miss her like crazy!!!
We are from Middletown, but that is definitely out of the question for bil, not cool enough I guess
j/k. Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Re: Help! ISO great Cincy neighborhoods for my sister & BIL!!
Hyde Park and Oakley sound like they'd be great fits for your sister and BIL. They may also consider Madeira and Clifton Gaslight District.
If they need a REA, highly recommend Pat(ricia) Chrysler from Remax (www.athomewithpat.com).

For a younger couple, I suggest Mt. Lookout, Hyde Park, Columbia Tusculum & Oakley.
I also really like Mariemont & Madeira. So when they are ready to settle a bit more, possibly have kids, and still want a walkable neighborhood, they can check those areas out.
Hmmm, they do not have jobs yet....just started thinking about where they want to live for the long haul. She is in HR for the headquarters of a national hiring agency & he does house appraisals - just got certified or whatever to do them on his own (for his own business).
Thanks for all of the information!! This will help her out
This is where I think they would find what thay want. I also have a rec for a REA. Cassie Feldhaus, she is great. 513-231-2800
My husband seems very similar to your BIL. He actually work for the ity fixing up neighborhoods. We live in Pleasant Ridge and LOVE it! It's a great place for young couples, plus you find lots of diversity. It's a really interesting neighborhood. The business district is not too great though, a couple decent places but not much compared to Oakley or Mt Lookout. Mt Lookout & Columbia-Tusculum are really close to a fantastic dog park. Mt Lookout has a good business district.
Hyde Park = very expensive.
Mt Adams = no yards! Bad for dogs...
One other place to consider. We're actually about to move to Northside. It's really close to Clifton gaslight (just past 75), and is a fantastic little hip neighborhood. It's got lots of restaurants and bars. The diversity is enormous. It's the Haight-Ashbury of Cincinnati (but on a much smaller scale of course). Lots of vegetarian options, also a couple really nice restaurants in the business district (Honey, Slims). Anyway, if you find the right area of the neighborhood (North and West) it will be very safe, but it's in the turnaround stage (great place to buy now). I know I will feel safe enough to walk my dogs. I hear there is a dog park not far from it we will be visiting.
Good luck to your sister!
