What's up with all the randoms on the dwelling poll?  Was it listed as a hot topic or something?  We've had like 10 new answers to that post within the past 30 minutes.

Re: ??

  • I was wondering the same thing.
  • what are you talking about??
  • There was an old post that dnar had started.... A poll about living together before marriage... no one had responded to it in quite a while and then all of a sudden, today, all these random people that aren't from this board started replying.

  • Oh duh I remember that one. Sorry getting old I think the memory is going!!
  • And they're all people with VERY low post counts.... strange.

  • And there have been over 3,000 views?

  • It HAD to have been listed somewhere else as a "what's your opinion on this" type of thing.  No way that we would have all these people randomly show up on our humble little board by accident.

  • I wish it hadn't.  I was good with that thread being dead.

It does make me wonder if people look to see where threads are before they post.

  • It's probably not very common for people to check the last post date.... I try not to post in a thread that's more than a day or two old unless it's REAAAALLLLY interesting.

    This.

And if it's a board totally unrelated to me I might read the posts but probably wouldn't post.  For example, if it was a California board, I live no where near CA and am not traveling there so likely wouldn't be posting on that board.

  • Exactly... it's just so weird that people who aren't even married yet would be posting on a board for people who got married in a specific month.  That post now has almost 4,000 views.  I've been trying to find out where it may have been linked, just because I'm super-curious and incredibly bored, but I can't find anything.

  • HAHA Stu I tried to find where it was as well!!!!
  • I leave work at 3PM which is the only reason I didn't try to find it!
  • I even tried looking on the knot to see if there was something to link new people to the nest... no such luck!!

  • I was on quick yesterday morning and saw that it got some new posts, but didn't think anything of it until I just read this and noticed that it now has almost 7,000 views and 700 votes.  I know there aren't 700 of us.

My guess is they send some sort of email when you join TK or TN (don't remember) and it linked to some "hot topics" because every single post is brand new.  But why would they not look at what boards the posts came from before adding them to an email?  Fail!

Pam and stu, I loved your comments mixed in with the newbie's posts.  Especially stu for informing them that you're awesome.  LOL!
