Did you graduate with a degree in education? If not, how did you go about becoming certified to teach?
I coach a middle school girls' basketball team and the school board wants all coaches to be part of the a school system in the county. I just graduated in Dec. with my Accounting Degree (after beginning school as a Music Ed Major) and I'd really like to look into getting my teaching certificate/whatever it is I will need to be able to teach. I've been looking into local colleges to see if I can find anything out about where to start but haven't found any information so far. I'm going to start contacting staff at area colleges, but I just wondered if any of you knew anything about this? Thanks girls!
Re: For those of you who are teachers...
You've heard what I've done, not what I've been through.

Check out your state dept. of education's webpage and look for something like second career teachers or teaching certification (I can't remember the exact search terms I used when I was curious about it - hubby is a teacher).
hope that helps...
