Traveling to Atl this month. Rest recs?
Hi Ladies! I'm usually on June 08 or The AL boards. I am coming to Atl with a group the last weekend of this month (27-29). We are staying @ the Renaissance Downtown and going to the Braves games Sat and Sunday. I need recs for Dinner Friday night and also things to do on Saturday. There will be mostly guys so sports related, etc is a plus. TIA!

If they want a sports bar, I love Stats downtown. Its not TOO far from your hotel, but you'll need a cab ride most likely.
for dining, you have a ton to choose from, really. I use this site to make reservations. It can list places by location and amount

I've been wanting to try the Oceanaire & Park Tavern. I love Chops & Pricci (nicer places) and Shout or Loca Luna are good hang out spots that aren't too far from your hotel.
There's always the GA Aquarium and World of Coke for something to do on Saturday.
HTH!

Max's Pizza on Marietta Street downtown is great. Way more laid back than Stats. Spoon is good Thai also on Marietta Street.
You could also tour CNN or Turner Field.

I highly recommend Ecco! It's about 1/2 mile from your hotel. My husband and I go every chance we get! Definitely try the fried goat cheese! Mmmmm...

If you want walking distance from the hotel, Dogwood is pretty good. I went once with my family before a show at the Fox, and we all really enjoyed it.
I second Ecco. Also... Wisteria, Taqueria del Sol (very relaxed, you do have to wait in line though), Sotto Sotto, and Flying Biscuit for breakfast/brunch (get there early!!). I"m drawing a blank right now on anything else....
I like this hotel. My Co did an on-site, overnight function there last year and it was very nice. I did read in the AJC last week that it is closing at the end of the year, but that a tourism industty issue, not a maintanence or employee problem:
