So, after being employed full-time last year, I got cut. This year isn't looking so hopeful, job-wise (I know I'm not the only person or teacher thinking this).
I was offered a long-term substitute position for all of first quarter.
Here's my Q. Can I keep looking for a full-year position? Or would that be a naughty thing to do?
Re: Teachers - WWYD
Ditto.
I had this happen to me my first year teaching as well. I hadn't found anything, accepted a first quarter LTS, and then three weeks into the school year, got offered a job. The principal was very understanding, and even if he wasn't, a full time position is better than a LTS. In this market, sometimes you just have to look out for yourself. Look at it this way, there is some other teacher looking for a job out there that would love to get the long term, if you have to vacate it! It might stink for the principal for a day or two, but there are plenty of teachers out there.
