I have a friend who is moving to Rochester this weekend and is coming up tomorrow to go shopping. She also wants to go to the Art Fair.
Is there a light rail station nearby? I won't bother if we'd have to hop buses and the like, but if there's a light rail station that'd sure beat trying to park down there. Google can't seem to find the addresses of the stations.
Re: Uptown Art Fair?
No - LRT doesn't go there, you'd have to bus it. Once you get there, there are free buses between all three art fairs - Uptown, Loring and Powderhorn.
We live right by Powderhorn and I'd recommend that art fair any day over Uptown - much less congested and still a lot of art and vendors. But for an out of town visitor Uptown might have a little more to do, too.
Darn, I thought it was worth asking though!
Thanks for the tip.
Call Metro Transit and they can give you specific schedules and help you plan the trip. Just google it and their number will come up.
LR station is on Hennepin and 3rd I think...I can't remember exactly but there is no LR station in Uptown. It's in Downtown, not even close.
It's easy to take LR and then hop a bus to Uptown, but if you're taking the LR from MOA or airport and then getting the bus to Uptown, it'll take you like 2.5 hours to get to Uptown.
You're much better off driving.
