Holy crap

Parents at our school installed 91 sets of window blinds this morning.

NINETY ONE. I wonder if they did my classroom? That would be lovely.

Re: Holy crap

  • That's great! Sounds like you've got a supportive bunch of parents.

  • Yes, they are supportive. However, they are required to perform a certain number of hours of service to the school and they get double hours on the Saturday work days ;) Certainly not complaining, though--because of our parents, we actually have a landscaped front lawn, freshly painted rooms and hallways, spotless bathrooms, and evidently window blinds!

  • How awesome!  When B gets older, I'll be flat in the middle of all of that.  I'll be "that" parent.
    Lilypie First Birthday tickers
  • Wow, I can't imagine having that kind of parental involvement.  That's awesome they took care of so many things around the school.

Friday was enrollment and I had maybe 4 or 5 parents come by with their kids to see the room, meet me, etc.  3 of them offered to help out in any way they could--class parties, snacks, extra kleenex, etc.  That NEVER happened the whole time I taught MS and HS--this is like a whole new world and I think I might like it. Wink
  • One of the things that I love about the parent hours is that reams of copy paper and kleenex equal parent hours. I don't remember the ratio. So, when we're low on either one, they send out a mass email and it all comes in flying lol.

That was nice of those parents to offer, Jamie :) It does make you feel good to know that there is help when you need it.
