Help needed for upcoming visit
Hello!
My husband and I are spending our anniversary in Salem this October (yup, Halloween weekend, I'm one of those
). I read about some ghost and witch tours that tourists liked, but I was hoping to get some local advice. Are there any in particular that you'd recommend?
TIA!
Re: Help needed for upcoming visit
I usually avoid Salem like the plague in October. However, I did go a year or two ago with some out of town friends who were dying to check it out and wanted the full October experience.
We tried to go to the Witch Museum, but you have to buy tickets for a certain entry time, and the line was really long, so we ended up skipping that. So I suggest getting there early if you want to check that out.
We ended up doing the trolley tour, figuring it would give a good overview of everything. It was a nice ride around Salem, but I don't think it was worth the money. Definitely not witch-y enough for my friends.
I have done the House of the Seven Gables tour during the off-season and thought it was very interesting. I don't know if they do anything different for Halloween, but it wasn't witch related.
I thought the best part of being there was just people watching and walking around. Salem is a fun town anyway.
Oh girl... better you than me. : )
Check out A&J King bakery... Yummm!!!
Also take break from the ghosts and visit the Peabody Essex Museum.
Thanks for the tips!
