Poll - How do you feel about people asking for Votes

Whether it be here, Facebook, email, so on and so forth?

And when I say votes, I mean voting for children, yourself, blogs..Stuff like that.

[Poll]

Re: Poll - How do you feel about people asking for Votes

  • I voted special. Because there are some people who put "voting stuff" out there for worthwhile things- like charities, groups and projects to get more money. But pimping yourself and/or kid, I'm not likely to vote. (I have voted for Gio a couple times though, Pammy!) Not sure why, probably just hate the popularity contest thing for individuals. I'd rather put my input for something that may help someone/something.
  • It irritated me when it's people I haven't talked to in years.  I voted for GIO and I didn't mind at all.  Pammy also didn't harrass me about it. lol

Someone I haven't talked to in maybe 5-7 yrs has been sending me emails on FB asking me to vote for his kid.  I am like LEAVE ME ALONE!!!! I am NOT voting for your brat!  ugh! Seriously the only thing you can email people about is voting for your kid.  ANNOYING!

  • special snowflake - if you are asking me to vote for your kid, your kid better be cute.  I'm not voting for any uggos (not talking about anyone here). as far as blogs, etc - if it's a blog I already follow, then I will vote for it, as long as I don't have to sign up for something to do so.  I just want to be able to click and be done.

    Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker
  • totally agree with Meg and Beck! I think pimping our kids out here is a different story because we love each other and support each other BUT facebook is a different story for me--
  • OMG Becky and Meg y'all made me crack up !!

  • If it's for a good prize and u have a decent chance of winning I'll vote, if it's just bragging rights or there's no chance in hell bc there's 10billion people in the contest I prolly won't vote. But it does give Me something to do when work is slow
  • It doesn't bother me when it's someone I know, but a random person or even an acquaintance will likely not get my vote unless I think it's worth it.  But like for Gio, I voted for him every day because I spend a lot of my time with Pam (and all you girls) here.  Also, I'm less inclined to vote if I have to sign up for something.

LOL - I thought this and I am glad you said it.

  • Special snowflake - I'll vote for blogs/contests/cutie kids and whatnot BBBBBBBUT - If you continously send me emails/facebook updates to remind my @ Sss to vote...then I'll FLAT.OUT.ignore it. I'll delete you, or hide you from updating me to vote. Because sometimes, I already voted, so take me off the freaking chain, I've done my business, did my work and voted. I don't need to see ten thousand responses, and get feedback on how to properly submit a vote.

I hate the Vote everyday contests, too. One vote is all you get for me.

  • i voted special snowflake. i dont really get bothered with that stuff, i freaking HATE the game invites and what not, but the vote for my baby stuff is no biggie to me.

that being said, i spam the hell out of kody's stuff, but thats the only income we get from this book right now (it is back end pay), so if i dont try to sell the stuff and push the book then it doesnt sell as many copies and it turns out not like we want, so if yall follow me and get tired of my comic book spamming, please forgive me. we invested alot of time, money, sweat and tears in this and i want it to be successful!?

  • I stopped voting for things (sorry Pammy!) because one of my friends sent emails to vote for her kid for something last year and I did. Well, I ended up with, and I kid you not, at least 50 emails a day of junk mail. It took me MONTHS to "unsubscribe" to all the crap that I got signed up for just for voting and I've refused to do it since.
  • I don't mind if they post like Pammy did- you can choose to ignore it or do it if you want.  But sending emails is annoying, especially the people who send it to their whole list.

I have a friend on fb from a LONG time ago and she is one of those Pampered Chef people.  She is always begging people to have parties and I get really tired of that.  She used to email but stopped- bet she got quite a few people complaining.  But she'd invite you to bring your kids to her house (in Philly and i'm in Pittsburgh) for some event and it really irritated me.  It wasn't a personal invite; she just sent the email to everyone on her contact list!  If you're going to send me an email, it better be a more personal one...
