Such a "Green" weekend!

Friday, we had BGE home come out to look at our insulation and doors and someone come take pictures of our house to decide if we qualify for solar panels.  It looks like we do!!!  I also made appt. for a free quick home energy assessment where they will do a walk through, tell us of any energy saving ideas they see, and install (free of charge - parts and labor) 6 CFLs, 2 faucet aerators, 1 low flow shower head, and wrap our hot water heater and pipes. I also made an appt. for a full home enrgy audit.

Saturday we went shopping for new entry and storm doors, will probably order tomorrow along with a new sliding patio door, got stuff to repurpose our old set tub into a planter, and picked up our CSA.

Sunday I compared and repriced the doors, bought an energy star light for our hallway, got an indoor compost bucket (the ants love the one we are using now eww), and kept the A/c around 79 all weekend

We're getting there!

Re: Such a "Green" weekend!

  • Very nice!  Those are some great accomplishments!

What is BGE home?  Is that your energy provider?  If so, how do I sign up to get all that awesome stuff? Wink

  • BGE home is a seperate company from BGE, who is our energy supplier, and I don't think we'll be using them past this first quote because their prices were really high.

BGE offers the Quick Home Energy Check Up which I mentioned above.  If you don't have BGE I believe Pepco has a very similar program.  Just check your energy supplier's website or give them a call.
