Tivo has been rebooting randomly for the past week, and today, it bit the dust while I was trying to watch The Next Food Network Star. After an hour on the phone with customer service, they're sending me a replacement unit. This wouldn't be so bad, but we have our cable run through the Tivo too so options are limited on what I can watch for the next couple of days--the last of my maternity leave.
Any suggestions on how to spend my last 2 days with Alex? I usually watch TV during his naps. Oh, and it's 92 degrees and humid here so can't spend much time outdoors.

Re: Stupid Tivo
First thought - hold him
That was the hardest part about going back to work for me, not being able to hold Amelia whenever I wanted. I came home today and picked her up and just held her for an hour.
Other than that I would say make ahead a few meals if you can. When you get home from work you will most likely want to focus on Alex and this will be one less thing to worry about.
Take pictures of him and get them developed for your desk at work or email them to your work address for easy access.
Lay out clothes for your first few days at work so you have a few extra min. with him in the morning.
These are fantastic ideas! The holding part I already have down since Alex doesn't really like to nap anywhere besides my lap during the day, but I hadn't even thought about making meals. I'll be working from home on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays until the end of the year, so since I start back to work on Thursday, clothes for this week won't be an issue. I should actually go out and buy clothes for next week though, since I still can't fit into any of my work clothes and all my maternity clothes are winter clothes or summer casual stuff.
The photos are a great idea. They're all on my work computer already, but I'll take my photo album as well since I heard this is helpful for pumping.
Awesome ideas lucky! I second making meals ahead of time. It will be nice to know you don't have to think about that right now.
Lucky-how is Amelia doing?
V-did you check your PM? Just wanted to see what you thought about something. Oh and this is the 4th day in a row Ayden is STTN : ) Hopefully it continues.
Enjoy your last couple days of maternity leave. ow nice you can work from home too.
Thanks! The meals were the hardest part because by the time we were able to eat, we didn't have energy to cook and would end up eating fast food way too often.
Amelia is doing good. She is recovering from her first cold and had her first sunburn about a week ago. We tried to keep her covered up but her cheeks still got a little pink.
Glad to hear Ayden is sleeping through the night! Amelia is sleeping for longer stretches (5-6 hrs.) but I keep waking up because I'm paranoid I missed her crying. She has only done this for about 3 nights so we are cautiously optomistic.
It is hard to keep them covered up outside, we think we do a good job too, and there is always some spot we miss.
That's how it was for us and Ayden's sleep. He did the 5-6 hour stretches for a month (sorry!) and now has slept between 7-9 for the past 4 nights. I'm hoping it will continue and that Amelia does the same for you soon too! I am constantly waking up thinking I'm missing him waking, even with the monitor on. I think it is hard not too. I also had to learn not to walk in his room with any little sound, as I was the one waking him up. That was hard for me too.
