Re: All about the spellcheck

  • It makes me sad that he actually found that many errors... although I am not surprised.

Sort of like when OutBack commercials told us to "Live Adventurous".  *facepalm*

    Back in June 2010...
  • Ever since Apple's "Think Different" campaign, people seem to care less about adverbs. Obnoxious.

What irks me is using less instead of fewer. I feel like there have been more commercials lately with phrases like "less calories." It's like nails on a chalkboard!

  • I swear that grammar is going down the drain everywhere. Half the kids on my block and their parents talk in text message language. I just want to tie them up and pull out the hooked on phonics books that I used as a kid. So this really did not surprise me. :-(
  • Haha, I do this in real life too! (Not walking around with a sharpie and all, but I definitely point out errors that I find in billboards and advertisements...it's the English major in me!). My H thinks I'm crazy but also finds it hilarious that these "professional" people put these signs out there with obvious errors!

  • Love it!  I do my best to start my own personal boycott of businesses which advertise using incorrect grammar or spelling.  It's unavoidable most of the time.  Sadly, few people actually know how to use the English language properly.  :(  At least my June 2010 girls are all over it!
