As a lot of you know, I have endometriosis, and have been struggling with pain for a long time. More recently, my cramps have gotten to the point of being debilitating, and even when AF is not in town, I have chronic, daily pain. I've started having a sharp pain in my right side, so I went to the doctor today.
After having some quality time with the dildo cam, we found I have a large cyst on my right ovary (which is new for me), and my current fibroid tumors have gotten bigger.
So, since I do not want to try Lupron, it looks like I am going to be having surgery in the next couple of months. Also, my doctor switched me off my current BCP to try Seasonique, to see if I am successful in skipping my periods, since on my current pill it never worked, I would get my period anyway. Hopefully between surgery and a new BCP I can hopefully have reduced pain, if not actually be pain free. Fingers crossed. BF has already promised to take good care of me. ![]()

Awww, good luck P&R!
I've been on Seasonique since its inception (ah ha! hahaha) and we've loooooooooved it. It dawned on me the other day: I have 5 more weeks of bliss and then I have to deal with this crap every. freaking. month. BLARGH! Its been years since I've had to do that!!!
I hope it makes the endo better and you don't have clotting issues!

Thanks everyone!
Kat, if you don't mind, what is AF like when you do get it? If I don't have Factor V and can stay on it, my doc said I can even skip my period with that too, so I don't have to get one at all, since it's so painful for me.
Hey, I just found this little gem about Factor V Leiden.
Pregnancy: It is thought that Factor V Leiden increases the risk for recurrent fetal loss and has been associated with severe pre-eclampsia, unexplained intrauterine growth retardation, placental abruption, and stillbirth as well as maternal clotting during labor and in the postpartum period.
ugh, Factor V sounds terrible!
AF was non-existent on the "off" months. I just had to make sure I never missed a pill - I take mine with my vitamins before bed so I always took them around the same time. On the "on" month it was normal. I never had any crazy problems.
IF your doc says you can skip it, then I would. The only reason I'd go ahead and have mine every 3rd mo was so I knew we weren't pg and my insurance only paid for it on schedule!

Yeah, my Mom has it, and has thrown several blood clots this year, so I am REALLY hoping I don't have it.
Good to know AF isn't too bad. Right now, anything would be better than what I am currently going through.
I am so sorry and hope things get better. Regarding the Fibroid I have one as well. Has your doctor suggested any type of diet/lifestyle change in order to help shrink the tumor? My GYN did so and my tumor has shrunk. She told me to avoid anything that may have hormones on them, so Organic Veggies, Fruits, and Meats. Exercise also helps a ton. Good luck to you.
ETA: Lawd have mercy that dildo cam!! I remember going in for an ultra sound and wondering why she pulled out lube and a condom.
No, we don't think the fibroids are the issue though, and I don't want them removed at this time. My fibroids are not on a "stalk", they are actually embedded in my uterine wall. If I have them removed, they will have to make incisions in my uterus that will have to be sewn up, and not only will this require a more invasive surgery, but it will "require" me to have a c-section when I have a baby. I would disagree with needing the c-section, but if it's a fight I can avoid I would rather do so.
Sorry to hear you're having all these problems! I had endo that was causing me a lot of pain after my period, I even had narcotics prescribed for it b/c it was so bad. My doc put me on continuous birth control (no periods) and I took it that way for many years with no problems, just the regular stuff, not seasonale. It really worked for me, and since I've quit taking the BC I haven't had any more problems. I know everyone is different just wanted to add my experience if it helps. Good luck to you - I understand your pain and hope things go well for you!
