Roc Ladies re: Peggy's Bridal
Did any of you get your wedding dress from there?
If you did, do you remember the designers that were sold there?
Re: Roc Ladies re: Peggy's Bridal
Thanks ladies!
I ask b/c now Peggy's does not give you the designers name, the dress style #, nor can you take pictures until the dress is bought.
I am trying to narrow my search to find a few dresses for my soon-to-be SIL, that she liked there.
Yikes! This all seems excessive. Is this normal with bridal shops? I only went to Davids Bridal. I mean I guess its so that girls cant try on dresses and then buy them elsewhere for cheaper... but thats capitalism! Don't price gouge, bridal shops!
The people there told us they had people steal all the dress info, then had the dress(es) made in China for half the cost, so they made all these policies to protect themselves and the business. Which I can understand, but wow! Although, if they are going to do this, then they need to take there names off other dress designer sites (the section on where you can find the designer locally). Peggy's hasn't done this yet, so it kind of defeats the purpose of all their policies, lol.
No other dress shop that we have been to (to date 5 of them) have this policy, only Peggy's so far.
I really think it's lame when dress shops do this. I would never buy a dress from a shop who operated like that...what's wrong with being up front and honest and offering competitive prices?
My dress was about $100 more in the shop I went than I could have ordered it online but they told me everything about it (name, designer) and I appreciated that and enjoyed their honesty and knowledge about the designer.
I'd sneak a camera phone shot in if it were me...just make sure the shutter sound is off and pretend like you're texting
Yea - but someone who is going to have their dress made in China is getting what they pay for, and is NOT going to buy a dress from Peggys no matter what... you know what I mean?
I agree with GLL - caring about the customer, good service, and a good price is what would drive me to buy my dress at a boutique shop...
Lol, we tried this and got busted. They want cell phones off, oh and shoes off. Hahaha!
I agree, their policies suck, but she loves these 2 dresses there and we haven't been able to find them anywhere else. If she decides to buy one there, then she will be given the information. I'm just trying to get her the info and a picture before she buys a dress, for her peace of mind.
Do they let her try on the dress alone in the fitting room? I'd snap a shot then myself in the mirror. If not, that's WAY lame and I'd def go elsewhere. I know I asked for a few minutes alone in the fitting room before deciding because I wanted to be able to have quiet time and make sure I was making the right decision.
Heres an idea? Can you call and pretend to be a fake bride and just ask what designers they carry, and if they ask why, just say there is a particular style you saw in a magazine and want to try on, and so you want to know if they have it...
(then have an actual style in mind - in case they ask) ...
I'm not sure if ladies can try on the dresses alone. My "SIL" is going back on Friday I think, I will have to mention your idea to her. Thanks!
That is a good idea too. I'll see what I can come up with, lol. TY!
Wow- I wonder if it depends who is helping you out. I had no issues getting my photos taken when I was trying on- I don't remember my gf asking though, lol. Then again, I purchased from there about 3 years ago now so it may have changed. It does seem a bit excessive. I did have a great experience there though, and I found the price to be within $150 of what I would've paid online. It was worth it to me to just be done with it and have it at a shop versus ordering on line.
